Can someone let me know how you properly post for a
caregiver on the caregiver search? I have a wonderful
nanny who has been working with our family for the past
several months while our regular nanny has been on
maternity leave. I would like to create a post for her
as she will be looking for work in July. I wrote
something on Friday and checked SFPOM Caregiver Search,
but nothing has been posted as of yet. Any advice
would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the guidelines, I post them about once a
month:http://www.bigtent.com/group/forum/message/68997474?ff=1I'll
take a look at your posting, but I don't have the
authority to approve all the nanny posts - there is a
black list of nannies who misrepresented themselves in
the past that the volunteers need to check against.
Thank you for your patience!Jenia.

3. SFPOM - Board Member Wanted!

Dear SFPOM:After 2 years of serving as the SFPOM
treasurer and executive board member, it's time to hand
the reins over to a new, excited volunteer!I have truly
enjoyed serving the SFPOM in this capacity and without
a doubt have benefited greatly from the many
friendships I gained and various club services I
utilized of as a result of my involvement. To me it
confirms that the more you give, the more you get from
the SFPOM.Serving on the executive board is a superb
way to help shape the next great ideas that will drive
our club forward and to see them put into action.
Monitoring the club's finances is the lifeblood of
being able to provide future events and services. Now if
the thought of accounting makes you break out in a cold
sweat, let me assure you that the Treasurer role is
very simple and user friendly. You don't need a PhD in
math, or even a background in accounting, to pick it up
quickly -- we've built a highly automated, paperless
system and I will be with you every step of the way to
ensure an easy and smooth transition. Like the
President, VP and Secretary, you will need to meet for
board meetings and respond to board issues as they
arise, but the time commitment is fairly flexible and
not burdensome by any means.I wanted to post this to
the forum so that another enthusiastic parent of
multiples can take hold of this position and run with
it. The club is truly what you make of it, and I have
been highly impressed with the many wonderful ideas
that have bubbled forth from our membership, so I know
the future leaders are out there. Please let me know if
you're interested. I'd be happy to talk you through
the process (really, it's very streamlined), and to
start discussing the transition. Thanks and best
regards,Matt

Do you love your nanny, but your kids are starting
preschool soon and you'll no longer need her? I need to
hire someone new and have flexibility on the timing.
I'm interested finding someone who has experience with
twin toddlers, is a self-starter, can cook, does fun
activities with the kids, can drive, speaks English or
Mandarin and has good energy. Thanks in advance for any
referrals!

we went when the kids were a little older-- 27 months.
it wasn't the best night's sleep, but we had a really
great time. i don't think we could have done it at 19
mos. here was our planning for the first tester outing
-- one saturday night - we left the city during naptime
and returned during naptime -- close by ie. close
enough for the middle of the night bailout - we went
for redwoody and got to see banana slugs and the ground
was soft for when they fell down -- we practiced in the
tent at home before we left -- at night, each parent
took one kid to sleep, though they didn't stay like
that and sleeping was a challenge, don't get me wrong.
we may try a different technique next time. one thing
that came in handy was having the car close by to help
calm and contain the noise of a 2am screamfest --iphone
app saved that one. and yes to the nightlight, books
and other toys for the tent. having their special
digger/stuffed animal whatever it may be was really
important. but, it was a real adventure for us and we
are planning on going again! good luck!
