Grocery bag full of mostly matching boy clothes and
shoes (2 pairs). Pick up Inner Richmond, near CPMC.

Hi all,I just found out that there are 2 openings in
the Monday Wednesday Friday morning class of our
beloved preschool in the Inner Richmond. Peter's Place
is a play-based preschool at 4th Avenue and Balboa. Our
twins went there for three years and loved every
minute. My son will start in the Tuesday Thursday class
in the Fall. The teachers are veterans with very low
turnover and the philosophy of the school is very
low-key and inclusive. (It is not at all religiously
affiliated). They have great statistics for getting
into Kindergarten, etc.The openings are for boys with
birthdays in January-June of 2009 I believe. If you are
interested, please contact Kate Banfield, Program
Director at 415-752-1444If you have any questions about
Peter's Place, I would also be happy to answer them. We
adore the school and can't say enough great things
about it. I can be reached at 415-517-6280Jessica

We almost always required our toddlers to sit to eat --
no grazing. The one exception we made was a sort of
cocktail or happy hour before dinner if my husband and
I were cooking. That's when we would often put
together an appetizer plate for the girls. Because
they were hungry before dinner, we would give them
vegetables that they might not be excited about on
their plate with other foods. We'd offer a few raw
vegetables, with one or two dipping choices, arranged
nicely on a plate. You might have luck with apples in
a similar way when you know they are hungry. Carla

Thank you to everyone. I really appreciate the
thoughtful responses you posted. The overnight camping
trip is a big birthday bash with lots of families with
kids -- all at least a few years older than ours. We
decided this was not the best opportunity to try
camping for the first time. We're going to bring the
twins and drive home later that night. I'm bringing
our stroller in hopes that they will fall asleep in
that for their 3(ish) hours of sleep before we leave
(maybe just in theory), but also a tent and 2 portable
cribs as back upThanks again for your input. I'm
looking forward to our first *real* camping trip.

Sounds like it might be time! Just definitely put
blankets down underneath for the first few nights. I
think each of ours fell out once the first night or
two, and then got the hang of it pretty quickly. A
couple of the times, tho, it didn't even wake them up!!

toddler beds are on our agenda for the weekend too --
we have all been sleeping on the floor all week due to
the crib-free revolution that has invaded our home.
(this is following on the tails of the no-sleep-sack
uprising). how i hope removing the side of the crib
will a peace treaty! good luck!!! i know we need it.
