Has anyone been to this group? Are they more expensive
than other practices? I'm just asking because I
haven't seen any reviews on them, and they do look
quite fancy. We are looking for a good group in the
area and are willing to pay if it's worth
it.Thanks!Rajni

4. Beloved Nanny Seeking Family with Infant Twins or Triplets
--------------------------------------------------------
bbartlett19702901 - 7/11/2012 1:01 pm
Our overwhelming satisfaction with our beloved nanny
can be summed up with one fact: we have happily been
with her throughout our twins' first five years. Now,
as our girls head off to kindergarten, Luci is looking
for a new family of infant twins or triplets to care
for beginning this September. She has 15 years of
experience as a nanny in San Francisco. She seeks a
family that needs 45 hours a week whose children are 3
months old or younger living in the Marina/Cow
Hollow/Pacific Heights neighborhoods. Throughout Luci's
5 years with us, people have stopped us on the street
to tell us how wonderful she is with our girls. She has
loved them, read to them, played with them, taken them
to classes and on outings, prepared wonderful organic
meals for them, started play groups for them and helped
develop them into playful, polite, outgoing, bright,
generous, bi-lingual little girls. She was a
knowledgeable and supportive partner through all the
major milestones (solid foods, sleep training, potty
training, pre-school) and her reliability and
confidence allowed my husband and I to live our dual
career lives without worry. She has been a blessing in
our lives and her legacy will live in the hearts of our
little girls who love her so dearly. If you are
interested in speaking to Luci about an opportunity,
please contact her at lulollipolli@yahoo.com or
415-640-0523.

I forgot to mention my name and contact information in
the posting for our nanny. My name is Bridget
Schickedanz. I have 5.5 year old twins. My email is
bbartlett19702901@yahoo.com. Please feel free to email
me with any questions or a referral on Luci. She is
wonderful nanny for working parents with twins!

6. Nanny question
--------------------------------------------------------
anonymous - 7/11/2012 6:15 am
I am seeking advice from all you experienced twin moms.
We are looking for a full time, preferably live in
nanny for our 5 month old boy/girl twins. My husband
and I will be working full time so she will be the
primary caregiver to our kids. We are currently
considering a 21 year old with minimal experience in
childcare and no real twin care experience. She seems
like a lovely, warm and energetic person and loves to
play with the babies (and they seem to like her as
well) but the downside is her young age and her lack of
experience. I worry about leaving the babies with her
all day. My question is would you all consider someone
like her or would you go for an older and more
experienced person (although much more expensive)? Has
anyone hired someone like this and what was it like?
This is a real dilemma for us since we like her and she
fits a lot of the criteria that we were looking for,
but at the same time I worry about her ability to
handle this. We left her alone with the babies for a
few hours yesterday and came back to 2 screaming kids.
Granted that could happen with anyone.....Any words of
wisdom would be very welcome!Thank you all.

In my opinion, someone with no twin experience and only
minimal child care experience will have an extermely
difficult time taking care of twins. Unless yoru twins
are your second children (and you are really
experienced and can advise on all aspects of your
twins' car), I think it is extremely helpful to have
someone who is more knowledgable than yourself. They
can advise when problems arise or when changing
schedules, introducing foods. There are many
"shortcuts" with twins, establishing sleep schedule,
daily routines....all of which (with someone
experienced) will make your lives easier. I am sure,
over time, this yound woman will learn. The question
is, do you want her learning with your twins? We went
with someone with about 16 years of experience.
Looking back, I would not have done it any other way.
It may be a more expensive route, but it is well worth
it.
