Dell'Uva Wine Bar (back room) at 3235 Mission Street
(across from when Valencia joins Mission.)PLEASE RSVP
so we can get a proper head count.. There is street
parking, or inexpensive lot parking across the street
(the restaurant manager said he thought it was
something like $5-6 for the night.) Also, the 14 & 49
buses go RIGHT there, or it's a <~10 minute walk
south down Mission from the 24th St. BART station.
They've got lovely wines, good beers, and delicious
gourmet pizzas and assorted apps.Event Details &

2. Bonding with two babies

jeccat - 7/15/2012 10:01 am
Hi moms-- I am currently reading "Mothering
Multiples"-- I guess I am cramming before my C section
on Tuesday-- and the author(s) keep on stressing how
much HARDER it is to bond with two babies at once
compared to just one. They compare it to falling in
love with two people at the same time and say it can
take months or even over a year to bond with twins or
higher-order multiples. Since these are my first
babies I won't have anything to compare it to, but I am
still a little daunted at the idea that it is going to
be especially hard for me to bond with my twins. How
accurate do you think their assessment is? Did you
find bonding occurred naturally and relatively quickly,
or did it take a long time? Looking for your thoughts
(and encouragement)...

Don't be too put off, you will bond with your babies
just fine. Bonding with 2 is different, not necessarily
harder in my experience (singleton then twins). I think
it's also different for each person. Just keep in mind
that there is a stereotype that you will fall instantly
and deeply in love... That may or may not happen and if
it doesn't don't feel badly. Relationships with babies
take time to develop, just as relationships with adults
do. The first few weeks are overwhelming as they are
just bundles of needs and it will be about 2 months
before they seem to acknowledge you with smiles and
coos. But, your babies will be able to tell you apart
from everyone else in the world by your smell and the
sound of your voice right away, and that is pretty
neat. Please try not to freak yourself out, but use
those books instead as references if you are having a
tough time and need advice. Seriously, the best thing
you can do to prepare at this point is rest and
something fun like dinner or a movie, whatever is
relaxing. Good luck!

Thanks again for all the great advice. One thing as I'm
elbow deep in researching this, for those looking into
Disneyland, I notice that if you buy them thru AAA, you
get free parking for AAA members. I don't see that
feature on the other tickets, though the mousesavers
site is $20 cheaper for tickets for 4 overall. Looks
like parking is $15/day at the park.Just another FYI!

$585 for 2 day park hopper tickets for 2 adults + 2
children if you buy them in advance (that's $195 adult

the price will go up by $5 per ticket. That $900 price

That early entry is nice as you can get through the
tough line rides, especially for the younger kids
(Peter Pan, Dumbo, etc.) fairly quickly before the
masses join you, especially since the Toon Town area is
toward the back of the park. When we got our tickets
through AAA several years back (and we stayed in the
Disneyland Hotel, we could get unlimited Fast Passes.
The added benefit of staying in that hotel, you got to
go to the front of the monorail line that takes you to
Downtown Disney, which is walking distance to the
hotel. Definitely a nice perk at the end of the
day/night when the lines are long with people leaving
the park. Also nice, not having to worry about parking
if your plans include taking a break during the day. I
believe the park stays open until midnight during the
summer. Also, check Costco for ticket prices.
