1. Night Doula Rates

What is the typical rate for night doulas for twins?
Most of the doulas we have spoken to are asking
$35/hour and I just want to make sure that's the going
rate. Anyone know of a great one looking for work?
Thanks!

Our 4.5 month old twins are apparently trying to catch
up on the growth curve, and are drinking 36+ oz/day.
Great news, but since we are on a new 4x/day feeding
schedule, we need bigger bottles! We have been using Dr
Brown's and Born Free bottles (no preference btwn the
two) but now need some larger bottles (our Dr. Brown's
only go to 8oz, Born Free to 9oz). Anyone have
favorite large bottles? And anyone switched to bottles
without all the extra parts now that we're through the
gassy stage?

3. 7 seater cars

noursej - 9/2/2012 11:56 am
saw a mercedes c350 wagon whizzing by the other day
with two seats in the back with kids facing backwards
looking out the rear window. wondering if anyone has a
car like this for twins (after carseats, i'm assuming)?
if there are other models than this one on the market?
and if you like it? pros/cons? thanks!

I can't speak for the Mercedes, but we just bought a
Toyota Highlander with a third row of seats that fold
down when not in use, and it's an awesome, awesome car.
I am amazed how much we love it!

5. umbrella strollers - single or double

noursej - 9/2/2012 11:53 am
sure this has been addressed at length in the past.
but, wondering the 'best' makes/models for umbrella
strollers for 13-24 months old for grocery
store/shopping, airports, etc. (i'd carry the other
baby in the ergo with a single umbrella stroller.)
what about double ones? any favorites? thanks in
advance!

6. safety gates

I looking for safety gates. We have stairs in our
house, I have found a gate for the top of the steps,
and am looking for one at the bottom. Our steps have
wrought iron rails on one side. Do you have any
recommendations? Do we definitely need one? My husband
is afraid of us living in a house full of gates, but I
don't know how I can wrangle two babies trying to climb
the steps at once!

Topic: Minivan "Groupon" Anyone?
So most of us have already gotten a minivan, but we're a
little late to the party...

just throwing this out there... :) my husband bought
a four-door pickup truck (toyota tundra) a few months
back, and man, hasn't that been a blast. it's sooooooo
much fun. we take the girls (13 months) everywhere in
it on weekends. if we're up in marin or sonoma for the
weekend and they're taking a nap in their carseats,
then we hop into the tailgate and read or have a picnic
in the sun. it's the mobile picnic machine. i've
LOVED it, suprisingly! we throw the cooler in the tail
along with the double stroller and hit the road. it's
been awesome. :)
