Hi all,Does anyone have tips on taking young twins out
alone to the park, classes or other activities? I'm
feeling like our 21-month old twins are missing out
compared to other kids, just because of the difficulty
of 1 person supervising 2 kids of this age on outings.
For example it's clear that my kids' gross motor skills
lag in some areas, because they don't get to actively
climb, etc. on a playground during the week.Our nanny,
who is with them alone 4 days a week, is great, but she
is very cautious. I'm not complaining, and very much
appreciate her concern for safety, but I do worry about
her inability to get them out and moving and exposed to
new things. I recently reduced my work schedule to
part-time, largely so that I can spend an extra day
with the kids and the nanny to go to a class/the
Academy/the zoo and my husband and I try to get them
out to move and explore as much as possible on the
weekends. I'm wondering, though, if others have dealt
with this or have a few tips that I can share with our
nanny for the rest of the week? For those who have
been through this stage, feel free to tell me that it's
impossible and I should adjust my expectations of
making this work or that I need a new nanny! I'm open
to all perspectives on this.

i have a friend back east who is six mos pregnant with
her second set of fraternal twins - b/g first and now
di/di b/b. she'll have four kiddos under 18 months!
wondering if anyone knows of groups/resources
specifically for parents with multiple sets of
multiples! thanks so much!

3. Annual Raises for Nannies

We hired a nanny through an agency for our now 15 month
old twins and are coming up on our one year anniversary
with her. The agency recommends we give her an annual
raise of anywhere from 3% - 7%... We currently pay her
$19/hour and were going to give her a 50 cent
raise/hour along with a $400 bonus. Which nets out to
a little over a 3% raise. So my question - Is giving
raises (or bonuses) common/standard? Does what we are
proposing sound cheap, or ok? Seems like daycare is
already so expensive, but we do want to keep her happy
as we want a good relationship with the person taking
care of our kids! And I'm just not sure what is
normal....thanks all!!Lisa

Hmmm...I don't know of any other cars that have that
feature where they are facing backwards. A family I
taught had the c350 with two sets of older twins and
they loved it. It was easier for everyone to get in.
They didnt want a mini-van and a car with a 3rd row was
still too hard with four kids getting in and out all
the time. That being said, with only two kids we have
the mazda cx-9 and love it. it has a 3rd row - so you
either have a huge trunk or extra seats if you are
carting other people around.

I have to admit that I didn't have the time to research
the best, but when our twins were about 13 months old
we started using -- and really like -- the Uppa Baby
G-Luxe single strollers. They're light-weight, have a
reclining seat, extra large sun canopy (which we use
more than I thought we would) and a carrying strap so
that you can carry it over your shoulder when the
stroller is folded. Uppa Baby also makes a
less-expensive and lighter version called the G-Lite.
I believe the main differences are that it does not
recline and it doesn't have the extra canopy length.
If it weren't for our frequent use of the extra sun
canopy, I would regret not buying the G-Lite instead
since we have never used the reclining feature.
