Thought it would be fun to start up a thread on
favorite books about/featuring twins - of the picture
book and fiction variety, rather than parenting
books. We have a cute board book called Two is for
Twins.I also remember Sweet Valley Twins and Sweet
Valley High from when I was younger.... What are your
favorites?

Moms-- I have 3.5 mo breast fed twins and they spit up.
A lot. Although we are diligent about cleaning up I
feel that my house smells of sour milk all the time.
It's been especially bad the last week and I hoped the
cleaners would fix it but no dice. We have carpet in
half the house (including the nursery) so that may be
the problem. What do you moms do about unpleasant
smells? Do I need o arrange quarterly carpet cleaning?
Invest in some essential oils? Bake a lot of cookies in
my bountiful spare time? Help!

Hi JessicaI don't have or cry over spilled milk... But
I dohave a cat that likes to pee on things
occasionally. The last time she peed on my bed, I know-
totally grossI used this spray called Zero. It smells
a littlebleachy, but I couldn't smell the cat pee at
all. It did a good job. Here is a link to it.

Hi everyone. Yet another feeding question and thanks
for all your help suggestions! Our one daughter
10weeks old has been pushing the bottle nipple out of
with her tongue and gagging on nipple if I try to
persist she eats. She takes about 1/2 feeding then
stops and I can't get her to suck again. I've tried
switching to tommee tippee nipple, tried breastfeeding
her (I still am producing). It's strange because 3
feedings out of the day she will take the bottle, but
the rest of the time I have to coax her to take even
20ml. I'm sure she's hungry....her intake has dropped
about 100ml/ day which is concerning. I'm going to see
if she is loosing weight today at Day One scale. She's
having normal poops/pees. Well she only poops every 4
days, but that's normal for her. Should I switch
formula? We are on similac advance care. Any
suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Too Much Halloween Candy...?Maybe your little ones are
super-prolific trick-or-treaters, or you just
over-stocked on treats in anticipation of a flood of
monstrous visitors. Either way, you suddenly find
yourself with pounds of unopened candy. Don't let it go
to waste and help your kids stay clear of the
sugarbugs. Donate your excess candy to our troops who
are serving overseas. This year, Dr. Gila, in
cooperation with Operation Gratitude, is collecting
unopened Halloween candy to send to members of the US
military who are serving overseas. Just bring your
extra candy to our office during normal business hours
and we'll arrange to have it sent. It's a great way to
say "Thank You". Your children are also welcome to
write a letter of support to be sent along with the
candy. Letter writing tips are outlined here:
LettersDetails:All candy must be new and wrapped in its
factory wrapperDonations will be accepted through

Hi Jeccat, Our babies are the same. They get super
fussy between 4 and 7. Our pediatrician said it's
normal of course and they outgrow it by 3 to 4 months
old. So I don't think we have much longer to go! We
have tried going for a walk with them during that time
for a bit. Giving them a bath (which was not a help
last night!) The walk seems to be the best idea and
really calms them down and lessens the crying time. I
also found if I put our one twin on her back and do
some massage on her belly and leg bicycles she really
calms down.Best of luck!

it materially got better just as I went back to work at
5.5 months. Wine helped a lot. One guy had to be in
the swing during that time frame or else, you just
wanted to wring his tiny little neck. (not really,,,
but kinda) I remember being so frustrated! And then
one day, pow!, no fussing, just cuteness!

Stopped at around 4 months for us as well. Taking them
out in the stroller worked best for us. Anyway your
babies are probably just a step away from giving it
up.........:)Good luck!!

Ours are 11 months and we bathe every other day one at
a time. (Unless they get especially dirty.) They
wriggle around and try to stand up too much. It often
takes two of us to give one a bath. Definitely not
ready to try both at the same time yet. Bedtime routine
is dim lights, a botttle, two books and I sing a
lullaby or two until they fall asleep. (No, we never
did sleep training.) The bath is just added to the
beginning on bath nights.

I have a 2.5 year old in addition to my 4 mo old twins.
We never did a daily bath with my toddler. We
intentionally did not want to make it part of the
bedtime routine because we didn't want bath to be
associated with sleep. We give her a bath every other
day before dinner, unless she gets particularly dirty
one day. I I tend to do the same with the twins. Daily
baths are a lot! My twins get a bath twice a week right
now and a wash cloth wipe down once or twice a day.

I would put mine down on the floor mat, or on baby
loungers so they could see me, and pump right after
feeding - before changing diapers even sometimes. They
would just look at me, at their hands, etc. I tried to
get everything ready and set up beforehand. Don't be
afraid to put them down and let them "self-entertain"
for 5 or 10 minutes here or there. You're not going to
miss some critical bonding time and it's good for them
to start developing a little independence, I think.

I use probiotics for the girls too and it seems to
help. I noticed when I ate anything spicy/ off the
girls were extra gassy. They are now 10.5 weeks and I
think their gas problems are much better although still
there a bit. So I think a portion of it is just
development. I noticed right around week 7 they got
much better.
