rockchalk90 - 11/19/2012 8:13 pm
Hello, has anyone attended one of the Nutcracker
Family performances?? I was wondering how soon should
I get there to be the first 500 kids in line so that my
kids can receive a present and also for the pictures
with some of the characters. We are going to the 7:00
family performance. Should I be there by 6:00 ???

Natasha, I am interested in volunteering for the Spring
Consignment Sale Team. Pleaselet me know what kind of
time commitment this will involve. I am planningon
selling at the sale this year. I would like to do most
of myvolunteering time before and after the sale, but
not during.
Thanks,

Club has a number of important volunteer positions
open, that we really need to fill: * Expert Speaker
Series Coordinator (organize 4-8 talks/year) * Content
Manager (will replace the tasks formerly handled by
Newsletter Editor) * Philanthropy Chair (some ongoing
activity, + coordinating various holiday drives) *
Family Outings Coordinator (organize 3 events/yr) *
Toddler Support Group Coordinator (revive this group,
which used to meet quarterly - there's a model in place
already, which just needs oversight.) * Spring
Consignment Sale Team These are all important positions
within the leadership of the Club, and entitle you to
participate in meetings on the running of POM, and its
programs and activities. Please let me know if you'd
like more details on any of the above. Remember, the
more volunteer support the Club has, the stronger and
more robust is will be!! Thanks for considering!! : )

We've had good luck with pedipeds. I don't know if my
kids have particularly wide feet, but the Robeez I
tried didn't fit well, and were too tight around the
ankles. The pedipeds have soft leather soles (they also
have harder soled options, but we've bought all soft
soles so far) and the mary jane styles are very easy to
get on and off. We also have the Stride Right shoes
linked to above, and liked those a lot, too, although
they definitely have a firmer sole than the pedipeds,
so I didn't start using those until she was really
walking. In terms of affordable, they all seem really
pricey for about 4 inches of leather... but all the
brands seem to be similarly priced. We got the Stride
Rites used at Chloe's close for $5 or $10, so I would
definitely check there first... but our pedipeds have
all been brand new. (I don't think they last forever -
between crawling end experimenting with different
steps, ours have gotten fairly worn down. I don't think
it's bad craftsmanship, though - just heavy, hearty
usage. The mary jane style has worn down a lot faster
than the sneakers, but I think that might due to the
different users.)

Thanks everybody! We were able to get her foot into a
Robeez and will be good for a little bit. Her foot is
still 0-6 months, but she's almost walkingSo I'm going
to try something new soon! With a little more support.

You will absolutely get there, don't worry. Yes, I too
realised that what I needed was total time away from my
twins for some guaranteed time in the week, rather than
a mothers help and this COMPLETELY changed not only how
I felt and my happiness but also my husbands and I am
sure my boys too. It's good for them to have other
carers and not be too dependent on you and I just loved
those times when I could go out, have a coffee, read a
favourite mag and even work up to start swimming again
when I felt up to it which made me feel 100times
better. I'd really recommend it. This whole phase will
fly by - its so true, doesn't feel like it at the time
I know.

You can also use large laundry bags (I was told some
people just use large trash bags!!) which is a cheaper
way to bag the car seats for the plane ride, great idea
that we got from another mom......
