Marcy,I've used S'Top Home Service Roofing Company for
years. I just met with Mr. Shin today. Their price is
hard to beat and they do good work. 931-4480. You're
welcome to drop my
name.CheersGedalia_________________From: Marcy Ginsburg

4. Mom's Night Out Dec 6th
--------------------------------------------------------
sfsharona - 12/3/2012 5:10 pm
Hi all - I know this has been posted in several
locations but I've read many posts from newer Mom's
wanting to connect with others so.........in case
you're not super savvy with this Big Tent thing (which
I'm not), just thought I'd send out another note about
Mom's Night Out this Thursday. A quarterly event for
Mom's only to get to know other twin Mom's, socialize,
ask questions, get a short break from your hectic
schedule, enjoy a glass of wine and some appetizers in
a relaxing setting. This month we'll meet at my house
for a holiday cookie/sweet swap. All details are
listed on the Events tab of Big Tent. Or feel free to
email me directly if you're having technical
difficulties - sfsharona@yahoo.com. I hope you'll take
advantage of this time and join us - these events tend
to be really nice when we get a good sized group to
participate. I'm always re-energized and happy when
I've had a chance to connect with the rest of you.
Hope you will feel the same. See you Thursday from
7-9pm! PS: This is an adult only get together but I
hope that won't discourage you from joining us.

6. Does your nanny cook for your twins?
--------------------------------------------------------
karu_garg - 12/3/2012 12:45 pm
Hi moms, Wanted to see how it works for mealtimes with
your nanny. Does she make fresh food for your babies
every day or every few days? Do you just give her a
bunch of things and ask her what to make or do you let
her improvise? We have 10 month old twins and so far I
make and freeze all the food in large batches on the
weekends and leave a set amount everday in the fridge.
But I have been wondering if our nanny should be taking
on some of the cooking? If so, how do you handle it??

A couple of other things to add to your list (BTW, I
did have a birth plan because I wanted to go natural,
but ended up with a C sec after 7 days of inducing - my
boys were NOT ready to come out at 38 weeks...):- Do
you want them to get eye drops (I didn't - I read that
first, in a c section, there is far less opportunity
for contamination (since they are not passing the area
that can get messy (sorry about the picture)), and the
natural way to disinfect and protect their eyes with a
couple of drops of Colostrum).- Most local hospitals do
this anyway, but skin-to-skin contact is very important
right after birth (you or your husband), so you may
want to specifically add that to the list. All the best!

Hi Elizabeth, Here are some things I considered for a
c-section birth plan: For mom:-request dual layer
suturing (among other things, in case you want a VBAC
in the future); -document who will stay with you in the
OR* and who will go with the babies to the nursery/ICU
(*I believe the only hospital that routinely allows
both spouse and doula in the OR is CPMC's St. Luke's
campus on Valencia); -request special music to be
played in the OR; -request to be allowed to labor for a
while in a labor room before going to the OR; -request
to be consulted before introduction of any medical
procedure or medication administration (makes you feel
like you're involved vs. having everything happen to
you); -request one arm be released to touch babies;
-request immediate skin to skin contactFor babies:
-decline antibiotic eye drops;-decline vitamin k
injection;-decline hep b injection;-request that only
you, dad or doula feed babies; -request delayed bath so
vernix can be absorbed into skin; -request cords not be
cut until they stop pulsingHere are two sites that look
like they have some interesting ideas:
-http://empoweredbirth.typepad.com/empowering_birth_blog/2007/06/cesarean_birth_.htmlHope
this is helpful. Best, Jen

Hi, I missed these communications about meeting up. Is
anyone planning to meet again in the near future? Is
there now a facebook page to join? I'm still really
interested in meeting-up on the weekends, my twin boys
are now almost 6-months.Thanks,Nancy
