If you know a great nanny or can recommend a good way
to find one looking for full time work in February
please let me know. Also, if you have any interview tips
or questions you wished you asked your nanny before you
hired them I would love to have your insight. Besides
watching the babies, what do nannies do? Do they do
laundry, wash dishes, clean up the babies? Any feedback
would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

My pediatrician told me they should eat three solid
meals by 9 months, and to start with the solids because
otherwise the milk fills them up. I followed the book
"Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron, which tells you very
specifically the amounts of solids they should take at
every month of age until they are one year old. I found
it very useful as a guide, since it's difficult to
determine how much is too much or too little when they
are so young. About starting with finger food, I was
also "behind", but looking back I think I did the right
thing by taking it slowly, since they were ready for it
later than other kids. I followed their lead, and that
was the right thing to do. I hope this is helpful. Good
luck!

I also liked the Super Baby Food book, but mostly for
suggestions on what to introduce when rather than
religiously following the suggested amounts (I'm just
not that organized). My twins are almost 9 months, and
have been eating 3x a day for a while. We just feed
them at normal meal times - breakfast, lunch, dinner.
It is more work for sure, but they are going to get on
3 meals at some point. I feed them as much as they'll
take, which varies day to day and meal to meal. My
girls have always been small, so I try to encourage
them to eat. If you're concerned about milk or solids
edging the other out, try spacing them apart by an
hour. So after morning nap a bottle, then lunch an hour
later. I just started giving mine O's, but while they
find them fun to chase around they can't really get it
to their mouths yet. Good practice though. I have an
older child, and really, this time will fly by and they
will be eating regular food before you know it. Just
try different things and see what works, then be
prepared to change it up constantly as they grow.
