My kids only spit out formula if it's not warm enough
for their liking. They tend to like it pretty warm
(hot). We used the Enfamil Gentlease since birth (4.5
wks early) as a supplement until five months, now they
are exclusively having that with solids. This is not a
dairy free product, though. If you find one they like,
like the more expensive, pre-made kind, mix this in to
what you are trying to give them. First try a 50/50
mix, then a 25/75 mix, etc. they should get used to the
new one over a few days. I've found with mine, if they
are hungry enough, they don't care what (or what
temperature) the food is...they just suck it down! Good

reflux resolves itself between 4-9 months, depending on
if/how preemie your kids were, so take heart, it won't
last forever! :) a bunch of us twin moms with
toddlers have been there, and are thinking of you!
here's what we did, that might help: - used anti-colic
bottles from the start as a preventive measure; i swear
they helped a lot -

formula (and the liquid version of this when we
traveled, but i didn't like using it much because of
the added preservative/stabilizer); there's also a new
sensitive version of the earth's best formula

but i never used it, so can't vouch for it.- we made
batches of formula twice a day (morning and night) in
bottles which we kept refrigerated. we used warmers to
reheat the bottles, this way they didn't have air
bubbles from having been recently shaken/mixed -

- i think this method helped a lot too. mixing breast

i know there are some differences in ingredients
between ready to feed and powder. not sure how this
affects the taste (i couldn't bring myself to taste
either), but they definitely smelled different. the
powdered version was awful. our son supplemented with
alimentum starting around 7 wks after he was diagnosed
with failure to thrive. we were never 100% sure of the
cause, though the gastroenterologist suspected a dairy
sensitivity. he definitely preferred the RTF over the
powdered. he wasn't sensitive to powder, he just
didn't seem to like the taste. at 6 mos, we started
weaning off alimentum. we slowly mixed it with regular
similac (prepared powder) in smaller & smaller portions
until we switched completely to regular similac at
around 9 mos. whatever it was, he grew out of it. his
twin sister never had any issues.alimentum is
expensive. if it was prescribed by your pediatrician,
you can use flex dollars to cover. hope this helps!

not sure of the exact definition, but i think most
folks mean some form of cio or modified-cio to get the
kids to sleep through the night without a meal.sleep
training in our house consisted of three nights of very
minimal cio at 6-7 months. however, they were already
self-soothing in their cribs at naptimes by then; and
were already night weaned by then too. i referred to
this book quite a bit, in case you haven't heard of it

for us, our twins were "sleep trained" at 5 months...
but we still did a "dream feed" at 10 or 11pm until
they were 7 months. Then they were able to sleep 6pm -
6am with no feeding in between. And they were able to
self soothe and fall back asleep with minimal CIO.(This
all went out the door during some teething periods
which required some soothing on our part as well as
Advil "AKA: baby smack". But once they got a short
snuggle and advil, they were able to go straight to
sleep again.)

we have this

like it. We had a different summer infant one before
that only allowed for one camera when we just had one
kid. But with a toddler and twins this one has been
good. There is a camera on each kid (so two in the
twins room). You can set it to show each image for like
8 seconds and automatically go to the next, or you can
make it stay on one camera, or you can put them all on
a split screen (up to 4 cameras). You can only hear one
camera at once though. We tried a different one (Lorex
I think?) before that was highly recommended and I
hated it. I like the light indicator on the summer
infant ones. The top of the monitor goes from green to
red when it is loud in the baby room, so even if you
have the sound turned way down you can see if somebody
is crying and then go look at the monitor.

i plan to get the diono radian rxts any day now -

We tried a bottle warmer, heating up a pot of water and
submerging it but those took too long. Finally found a
way that works - use 2 glasses, fill a quarter of each
with water, microwave for 75 seconds (temps may vary)
and submerge each bottle. This way the full amount gets
the same amount of heat. It's done in about 2 minutes
after dropping the bottle in the glass. I like the
mixing idea but this way we have bottles ready and just
heat, no need to think about how much for each, etc.
