I would put the convertables together with the infant
carrier on the curb side/window. That way you can snap
in the infant seat easily. Your toddler can climb in on
the curbside too so he/she can get into the middle
seat.

We switched at 12.5 mos after our 1yr appt. even our
daughter who had an infant dairy allergy adjusted
easily to the switch. But be warned about constipation!
Our son is still having major constipation issues after
about 3 weeks. So we've had to start reducing the
number if oz he drinks per day. I think he was drinking
around 26 oz formula and the ped says we should get
down to 16oz of milk. He is a picky eater and will only
eat kiwi fruit right now as far as fruits and veggies
go so he has also had to be on a mild laxative. The
problem only lasted about a week with our daughter but
she eats all sorts of fruits and vegies which helps.

I'm still nursing my 15 month olds. I do remember that
the feeds from 4-8 weeks being especially hard. I think
I documented one evening where they fed from me for 4
of 6 hours!I tandem-fed pretty much right from the
beginning. It did make things easier, or at least, it
gave me a little bit of a break. (I fed on demand,
which was about every 2 hours for the first 4 months).
They took 45 minutes a feed until they were established
on solids, which was about 8 months. I guess they just
liked hanging out with mom! :)Now, I often get the
drive-by, pop on, pop off toddler feeds, and I'm not
sure it's better than nursing for 45 minutes! Everyone
else has given you good advice, so I won't repeat it.I
saw an LC at 6 weeks because my babies were slow
gainers and my ped wanted me to supplement with formula
again. To me, they looked fine (tone, diaper ouput were
all good) but I wanted the assurance that I was
producing enough for my babies and I wasn't depriving
them. After the LC observed them nursing and did a
weighted feed, I was assured that they were eating
adequately and that I didn't have a problem with
supply. That gave me the encouragement to keep going
with breastfeeding.Breastfeeding does get easier with
time. Continued good luck!

so glad things are looking up for you. the babies
change so fast, it's amazing...i was really worried
about one of my guys, who had a weak latch, and now he
is totally fine. i also got kind of caught up in
comparing their eating habits (sucking pattern, etc)
while tandem feeding, but they turned out to be just
individual differences, not problems. maybe i'm extra
paranoid! :) best of luck going forward, glad we could
offer support.
