Hi Moms,My husband and I plan to move out of the city
in the next couple of years and are looking for advice
on neighborhoods you'd recommend. Perhaps you are also
planning to move or have friends in other areas. We are
looking into Marin, East Bay & the Peninsula/South Bay.
We'd like an area that is in a good school district,
safe and has restaurants/shops nearby (preferably in
walking distance.) We'd also prefer that it's near
public transportation routes to the city as we both
work downtown.Let me know if you have any
suggestions.Thanks,Laura

I can't say enough good things about Nano Visser
(_http://photosbynano.com/_ (http://photosbynano.com/)
). She did not take baby photos of my girls, but has
taken many photos of them since, which will be
treasures of ours forever. She does baby photos, and
is really talented, also easy to work with.
Cheers,Carla Hashagen

I have been a huge fan of the Bjorn air for when they
are little. It is lightweight, slim and it breathes
which is nice (those little guys can get hot when you
where them a ton. We have an ergo that I believe we
will start trying in the next month or so. I really can
not say enough great things about the Bjorn.

Our twins required 3 nights each to become
"sleep-trained". The first night our son cried for 60
minutes, night 2 was 30 minutes and he went right to
sleep on night 3. On night 4, our daughter cried for
45 minutes, night 5 was 15-20 minutes and went to sleep
soundly on night 6.They sleep in the same room and did
not seem to wake each other up. This was right around
the 4 month mark. Admittedly, we have extremely good
sleepers.Good luck!TomMarch - Retirement Strategies

You cannot sleep train a puker in the conventional
ways. you just cant. CLeaning up a puke-fest is far
more disturbing to your (and your daughter's) sleep
than going in to soothe him. Our son was the same way
- puked whenever he cried hard in his crib. We tried
CIO sleep training and quickly realized it was an epic
fail. So we co-slept with him for approximately 1-2
months. Specifically, we put him down to bed at
bedtime, and at his first wakeup (could be 10pm, or
2am, or whatever), if he didn't soothe quickly, we
would take him to bed with us. when my husband or I
woke up (for work, or to go to the bathroom, or
whatever), we would transfer him (asleep) back to his
crib. he would then wake up at his usual time. we did
this for about a month or two, even though people
warned us we would "ruin" him by bringing him to bed.
You know what? they were wrong. after a few months of
this co-sleeping (at age 11-13 months). he stopped
waking up at night! I think he was just having a
security phase where he needed some extra comfort and
cuddling. he just grew out of it.Bottom line here - do
what you have to do to get some sleep in your house.
Try co-sleeping, or putting him in a separate room, or
turning up the heat, or turning down the heat, or
darkening the room, etc. Experiment with different
things, and give it some time - he will get back on
track without CIO.Good luck!

I also had to formula feed due to medical issues and
our boys are growing up big and strong. We tried a
number of different formulas and the only one that the
boys could digest without major gas and cramping was
Enfamil Gentlease (sp?). My recommendation would be to
try a few and see which work. Give it at least 5-7 days
on each formula to see if they adjust.
