Hello...I'm going to begin my nanny search now. While
the recommendations for nannies are very helpful from
the forums, I'm curious to know if anyone has used
either Care.com, SitterCity, or Urbansitter for their
search. What was successful for you?Any advice on
hiring a nanny that has worked with twins? Special
questions to ask?Thanks,Lisa

You might be surprised how smoothly it goes. We powered
thru with our singleton around that age and she slept
the whole way (motion of the car worked great). On the
way down we left around 4 or 5 and got to OC in time
for lunch. We really only made one quick feeding / gas
stop. I pumped along the way rather than nursed as it
goes faster. On the way back we left around her
afternoon naptime (so she was good and tired and we
wouldn't hit LA traffic), and again she slept most of
the way. We did dinner at In N Out in Cattleman city (i
think) and were home by 7 or 8. Played a bit once we
got home and she went down for bed pretty easily
despite sleeping all afternoon/ evening.There are a
couple rest stops along the way which are nice and well
positioned for good breaks, but you probably will only
need one (if that).Good luck and happy Father's Day

Our singleton is a few months older and walks more, but
here's what we're doing:2 adults - snap & go / double
mcclaren + single mcclaren / walk1 adult - double
mcclaren - either big kid walks or sits in mcclaren and
I wear 1 babyLike others said, by the time babies grow
out of snap n go / carrier, big kid shouldn't need
stroller too much. Enjoy

Hi Susan,We took our twins to Bothe Napa State Park
last summer when they were 4 years old and it was
great. The camp sites can be reserved ahead of time,
but they have a walk-in area. I recommend reserving
them because they do fill up. The camp sites are in a
wooded area and there are showers, trails and even a
pool that is open on Sundays in the summer. The pool
is in the sun and it was a great respite in the
heat.Have a great time!Virginiamom to Alexandra and
Trevor, 5 years old
