2. Good ole fashion sleep training question
--------------------------------------------------------
lindseylou2 - 7/16/2013 12:04 pm
Ok, looking for some wisdom from you experienced mamas
out there. We're just about to start sleep training our
B/G 7 month old twins using CIO. We've done very little
'prep work' and are now suffering the consequences. My
husband and I are now so sleep deprived we are getting
desperate. Babies go down at about 6-6:30pm and stay
asleep until 10:30-11:30, when we do a feed. We know
they can go until at lease 6am without eating
(unfortunately I am not BF but am doing a nutrient
dense homemade formula that really satiates them). Plus
when we did feed them it seemed to wake them up rather
than relax them. After about 2am is where is gets
messy. My daughter wakes anywhere from about 2-4am,
cries, and won't go back down in her crib no matter how
much/long I soothe her. At this time of the night we're
so exhausted and desperate to have her not wake her
brother we've gotten in the habit of bringing her to
bed with us. Now it's also started with her brother
waking soon after and also ending up in bed with us.
Husband and I are sleeping horribly for obvious reasons
plus I don't think the babies are getting good quality
sleep with us, especially our son who never seems to
get totally comfortable. I guess my question is this:
how do we nip this in the bud? When sleep training, how
do you handle middle of the night waking when there are
two babies involved? Help please!Oh yes, they are in
separate cribs same room with a white noise machine
going all night. A big TIA!

I only can imagine what your going throughWe have an
amazing Doula. She absolutely phenomenal. My son had
colic and was up and down through out the night. My
daughter seem to have gas at times and very challenging
for us throughout the day. I've couldn't survive
without our doula. We were so sleep deprived. Cindy is
amazing, and was able too soothe them, and get both
babies back to sleep. She had the babies on a schedule
and routine that seem to work. Maybe she can give you
some advise or tips to help. Here is a copy of my
posting highly recommending her. Best of luck.● My

Postpartum Doula S.F.& Main Area Availability is

July 19th● I highly recommend her: Hello MembersI'm a
mother of twins that were born at 36 weeks in April. We
have an amazing doula that started from night one the
moment we arrive home. We hire Cindy for the duration
of two months, and kept her for a total of three
months. She will finish with us in two weeks. Cindy,
sleep trained the babies and have them on a good
schedule and routine. My husband and I are very grateful
that we had Cindy as our doula. Cindy combines enormous
wisdom, experience, professionalism and a great deal of
human kindness in her work and was a joy to have with
us. In addition to her extraordinary skills as a doula
she is a also quite skilled in taking care of
recuperating mothers and was very helpful to me. I have
been incredibly fortunate to have Cindy with me to
guide me through all of the practical skills, and most
importantly to give me time to heal and to encourage me
every step of the way.She is incredible.... More
specifically, she is gifted with the ability to take
care of our (preemie) twins, and teach parents the
essentials skills they need to be competent parents. In
addition, Cindy is such a pleasure to be with--- always
has a fantastic attitude and completely focused on what
is best for the babies. I was amazed at her composure
and professionalism at all times. We will be forever
grateful for having Cindy in our lives. She is
absolutely phenomenal!Our experience with having 3 1/2
year old child at home with us with the twins was
unbearable at times. She absolutely amazing with older
son. You are going to need nights. We started with
days, and discovered the nights were more helpful, and
less stressful--- having the support, and rest which
was so desperately needed. Needless to say, we were so
sleep deprived! However, Cindy works days/nights to
accommodate a family schedule. If you have any
questions. Please feel free to contact me via-email @

I delivered mine vaginally the last day of my 38th
week. My water broke at midnight, I was fully dilated
by 4:00pm, I pushed for an hour and babies were born at
5:03pm and 5:04pm. Baby A was head down and B was
breach. After I pushed out A my doc just pulled B out
by her ankles. Very easy delivery. MarcyWill & Mia

My wife delivered vaginally. Baby b was even breech.
But he was smaller too, which helped._______________Tom

I delivered vaginally in 2001 -- Went to the hospital
after being told at a regular ultrasound in Week 38
that Baby A's fluid was low and to make sure I could
feel her moving every hour or so. I was worried about
feeling/not feeling movement, so I played it safe and
checked myself in. Delivered two healthy baby girls
just after midnight after a short labor -- Baby A
weighed 5 lb, 12 oz and eight minutes later, Baby B
came out weighing 7 lb, 1 oz. My doc had to "flip"
Baby B in order to get her out and used forceps, but
the red marks it left on her head disappeared after a
few days.
