I was just released from the hospital today after being
admitted for pre-term symptoms. I am now on strict bed
rest and looking for help with meals, personal care,
laundry, setting up the nursery, and the like. Ideal
situation would be 3-4 days a week from 12pm-3pm. Would
love any recommendations. Thanks!

Anyone know what can be done with older cribs - the
kind with the drop-side? I know those have been
recalled (tho mine predates the recalls by at least a
decade.) It's a great crib - in beautiful shape, we
never had any trouble with it (& neither did the
friends we got it from) -- but now I guess they're more
or less outlawed. Are there any after-market
modifications we can make? Any charities that will
take them? I hate the idea of it going into landfill.
It has loads of life left in it yet.Anyone know how
best to handle this?

You might try St. Elizabeth's, a home for pregnant
unwed teens, on Masonic Street. I have taken
consignment sale leftovers to them from past sales but
I am not sure on their rules. Martha_________________

4. Excellent Postpartum Doula/Night Nurse

● My name is: Caitlin Gaudet● My phone number
is:415 658-5144● My email address is:
caitlingaudet@yahoo.ca● My caregiver's name is: Sara
Stuart● My caregiver's contact information is: 415
887-8308 postpartumdulasf@yahoo.com
www.sarastuart.com● She is Postpartum Doula● I
employed this caregiver from January 25-March 20● I
highly recommend her:Sara started with us the first
night we had all three of our triplets home from the
hospital. I can honestly say, I don't know how we would
have survived without her. Aside from allowing us to
get the sleep we desperately needed, her calm and
organized approach to the babies gave us the confidence
that it was possible to look after three at once. The
first night she was with us she organized the nursery
into a much more comfortable and practical space, which
has been key to us maintaining our sanity! Sara is
extremely knowledgeable and helped us with our many new
parent questions and anxieties. She is also a
lactation consultant and can help you with
breastfeeding issues and concerns (but won't judge you
if, like me, you don't manage to keep it up). As well
as looking after the babies, Sara took on tasks such as
laundry and bottle-making, meaning that not only were
our nights easier, the next day was also much more
manageable. We originally hired Sara for six weeks,
were lucky enough to keep her for a bit longer than two
months, and wished we had booked her for longer.

5. Playdate with other twins?

My name is Janelle and we have 10 month old boy/girl
twins. We live in Bernal Heights and I would love to
get to know other families with twins. Our twins are
groing fast and are now on the move. It would be great
to talk with other twin families that are going through
or have experienced similar things. Let me know if
anyone is interested in having a playdate or a walk.
Janelle

I also have 10 month old twins and would love to get
together if we can make it work. We live in SOMA. To
be honest with you, they don't go on many play dates
because it's kind of hard w/two babies.

Booo, hiss! That is NOT a nice experience! I get his
concerns, on the one hand.... on the OTHER hand - he
was a kid once, too! Criminy! AND - the place was
empty?!? Clearly it's his loss, as - now that you've
posted this, I think a lot of folks will be disinclined
to give that restaurant their money. Wow. Too bad,
but thanks for sharing your experience. Makes SUCH a
difference, and hopefully will keep others from being
traumatized. We had great experiences at Baby Blues BBQ
not too far from there (Mission/Precita) - especially
when sitting at the table that's next to the little
under-stairs room, with all the kid toys in it. The
owner and his wife are supercool, and definitely
kid-friendly. Anyone else have recommendations/warnings
to share?
