1. Double stroller - inline vs. side by side

Our b/g twins are due in April. I was sure I wanted an
inline stroller because it looks like it's much easier
to maneuver. The more I think about it though, I wonder
if side by side seats would be better. I assume the
babies would enjoy that arrangement more - no one has
to stare at the back of a seat! But it must be harder
to stroll, fit in tight spots, etc. Also, I have a two
year old so I'd like to be able to attach a seat for
him, as well. I assume I can do that on any double
stroller though. I'd love to hear what people think.

Sorry for all the posts at the same time but I have a
few minutes to spare in my crazy schedule (I am sure
you all can understand that :)What type of milk do you
all give your kids. We give our kids Whole Foods 365
brand organic milk. pesticide and antibiotic free. I
know some parents are proponents of DHA and some are
not. Just curious to gets thoughts of the other parents
in the group.Thanks

3. Peekadoodle prep? Advice

Any members enrolled in Peekadoodle prep? We are
members of the club and our twins enjoy the facility
and the weekly music class with Michael. Thinking about
next stage and possibly looking into Prep program which
starts at 22 months, a program prior to preschool.

We have the Boulevard. We bought if after initially
buying the Britax Advocate. When I went to have it
installed I discovered that the Advocate was too big
for our car. The patrolman installing it suggested the
Marathon, saying all Britax convertible seats are very
safe but the Marathon would be more narrow than the
Advocate. When I went to buy the Marathon I discovered
that it too was too wide for our car (we have an
Infiniti EX) so I bought the Boulevard. It appears very
comfortable and a lot of thought when into the design.
I have found it to be extremely difficult to install
rear facing, but forward facing is much easier when you
use the LATCH system. I can't speak to the Marathon,
but I would assume you would be happy with either.
Britax makes great seats. Recently I became concerned
that the Boulevard was a bad choice because I was
having trouble adjusting it for our son who is quite
tall for his age. I read Amazon reviews and found other
people had this complaint, as well. I finally watched a
YouTube video and discovered how to adjust it properly
and am happy to now say it is actually very easy to
adjust when you know how to do it and it can be
adjusted to fit tall kids. The Boulevard claims to go
up to 70 pounds. We're not that far along yet but I bet
we will come close before we have to switch. (BTW, for
tall kids people also really like the Diono.)As for
installation, I've always gone to the CA highway
patrol. They have officers licensed in car seat
installation. I've met quite a few of them at this
point (due to the difficulty installing the Boulevard
rear-facing) and they all know what they're doing. They
will spend close to an hour with you, which may seem
impossibly long but I've always found the appointments
to be very interesting. They provide a lot of advice
and the installation is free. I live in San Francisco
but have found it difficult to get an appointment at
the California Highway Patrol in San Francisco. Instead
I go to the one in Corte Madera (Marin). They are very
nice, always answer the phone, and you can get an
appointment within a few days to a few weeks. They
don't mind helping people from outside the county

Hi MamaWobin,What preschool is it? I'm curious because
my twins went to Big City Montessori School, and if it
is that one, I can certainly talk to you specifically
about it.My twins were also 2 years, 8 months when they
started preschool. Our situation sounded very similar
to yours. We had a nanny as my husband I both work
full-time, and sending them to preschool was going to
be a less expensive option.Like all changes, there is a
transition and we had one. But we had a great
experience with the preschool and staff there, and they
were well equipped to handle this transition. Our
twins were still napping when they started preschool
and they continued to do so. That had been a big
concern of mine.The adjustment for me was mainly in
getting out the door to preschool vs. having the nanny
just arrive. The preschool drop-off did take longer
and was therefore harder on me (as my husband used to
work very early hours and I was the sole parent at home
in the mornings.) But not having a rigid start time
for preschool helped (as opposed to elementary school
which I deal with now!) And like you said, there was
nothing else I had to bring since snacks and lunch were
all provided by the preschool.If I had my choice and
money was no object, I would have transitioned my twins
with a shorter preschool day where they could come home
and nap. But that was never in the cards for us for
several reasons:1) our nanny had agreed only to work
until preschool started so we would have had to look
for a new nanny2) we only considered 'full care'
preschools where there was extended care because we are
2 working parents and so the cost for that plus a nanny
would have been prohibitive3) long term we wanted a
'full care' preschool because we knew we would
transition out of the nanny so it made sense to just
start with that type of preschoolHappy to talk about it

Honestly, I don't know that there's a standard,
unfortunately. Did you have any sort of contract, even
informal, that outlined that? (Might be good to
consider, moving forward.) Just from a professional
standpoint, I hope she/he gave you a reasonable amount
of notice, in anticipation of how it might be reflected
in any reference you plan to provide...

Thanks all for the great posts. Our nanny gave us 2
weeks notice this past Monday and we are in the process
of searching for another nanny as many of the daycares
are full and have extended waiting lists. We were
thrown off guard from the short notice but grateful for
her assistance during the first year for our twins. She
was great and with any relationships there were always
adjustments and compromises we made but overall the
kids were in terrific hands which is the number 1
priority for us.Any additional comments on daycares
that might be open and how to navigate the waiting
lists would be much appreciated. I would be happy to
start a new post if it makes sense.Thank you

I took a baby-food making class and the instructor
recommended Garden of Life Primal Defense. We've used
for 3 months and it's worked really well. Doesn't
require refrigeration.
