We are planning a 7-10 day vacation with our b/g twins
who will be 23 months in March. Considering Puerto
Vallarta and wondering if anyone has any advice - good
location? other suggestions? lodging? activities?
Thanks!

We went to Mexico before we got pregnant with my
sister-in-law and her 2 year old and their friends who
had a 1 year old (at the time). We stayed at Azul
Beach, an all inclusive, and loved it. My
sister-in-law, who vacations a lot, also recently
stayed at another all inclusive called Beloved and she
said it was even better. These are both specifically
kid friendly 'gourmet' all inclusive resorts.

What's your preference for baby lotion and oil. We use
the following:California Baby Calendula Everday
lotionWeleda Calendula Baby oilAny other suggestions
for our twin b/g 16 mos? These are more on the higher
end for price and wondering if there is another option
with similar quality.Thank you

We just saw a pediatric dermatologist because one of my
girls (4 months) has moderate eczema. She said any
moisturizer is fine but lotions don't last as long. We
are using Aquaphor and she was happy with that. She
also said that if you want to use a natural oil, use
Safflower or Sunflower oil because the fatty acid
chains are closest to the natural oils in our skin (or
closes to our actual skin? not sure). Coconut oil won't
hurt, but isn't as effective. Olive oil is also not
good for the same reason plus it can be spicy/peppery
and hurt.I know that didn't exactly answer your
question, but hope it helps a little!

Definitely good to know. WE used Almond oil in the past
before switching to Weleda oil. No real reason to
switching just based on reviews we saw online. Do you
use Aquahor as a body moisturizer? Btw.. Aquaphor also
works great with scratches on their face or body.

Congratulations on your babies! And congrats that
you've been able to figure the breastfeeding out so far
and having a surplus! It's not easy! I can't help
regarding pumping, but I have just a couple of other
thoughts: lanolin is great for sore nipples, as is
Mother Love Nipple Cream (my lactation consultant
advised against lanolin based creams, in favor of
mother Love). I would also recommend a visit to a
lactation consultant to improve the latch. I was in
huge pain for a month, but though the latch was good.
She made one small change in my approach, and basically
the pain went away in 3-4 days. It could have been
timing, though, since nipples do toughen up (but it's
such a painful road until then). I found that feeding
on demand was far more frequent than every 2-3 hours
(more like 1.5-2.5 hours at most) for the first 3-4
months. But I'm sure that's a very individual thing.
Congratulations again! You're doing great!

I have been breastfeeding my 38 week old twins. They
have been home for two weeks and I am feeding and then
pumping about 4-5 times after feeds for 10 minutes. I
skip one breastfeeding session during the night and the
night nanny gives them a bottle. I haven't been able
to make much of a surplus yet...My questions are1. How
do you transition from "topping off" to just
breastfeeding. I worry they aren't getting enough. I
am supplementing after every other breastfeed per my
lactation consultant. 2. How long do you pump for
after a breast feed? Oh, and I had such horrible nipple
pain and it finally went away after 6 weeks of
pumping/feeding. I realized that I was pumping too
forcefully too! Don't fall into the more suction the
better trap. This is quite a labor of love.....best
wishes.

We only have the city select (tandem) so far. My girls
are only 4 months old and so far we love it. We have
been using the bassinet attachments almost all the time
(when we take walks from home) and now we just started
using the car seat attachment when we drive somewhere.
The bassinets are great because the girls can sleep
lying flat and it still doesn't take up much space and
I can push/turn it with one hand (there is almost
always coffee in the other hand). The car seat
attachments are super convenient but they make the
stroller top heavy. This was really awkward the first
few times, but now it doesn't bother me (it still
bothers my husband).Our friends/neighbors are using a
tandem (Bumbleride) for their daughter and the girl
they share the nanny with. Those girls are 2 and 3
years old and it doesn't seem to be a problem. They are
usually facing each other. good luck!
