If you're planning to stay in the city, I might
recommend a tandem over a double-wide. I know the
doubles are supposed to fit anywhere a wheelchair can
fit, but unfortunately I've found SF is a particularly
tough city when it comes to accessibility. Because of
the old, pre-ADA buildings and doorways, narrow
sidewalks, and crowded spaces, you'll find you may be
limited to where you can take the wider strollers.The
tandem ride of choice among lots of parents here is the
Baby Jogger CitySelect. It folds down compactly, and
the two seats are really flexible, allowing for
carseats, regular seats, and bassinets (which I found
were wonderful for the first few months for both walks
and as travel beds). The best part about its popularity
on here is that you can often pick up parts and
accessories from other parents for a fraction of the
cost if new.You may have your own reasons for getting a
wide stroller, but after pushing my babes around all
sorts of places, I've encountered so many situations
where I would have been stuck in a double-wide (the
most surprising of which was the Pottery Barn Kids in
Palo Alto!). Good luck with whatever you decide!

Hi.Babyworld in San Bruno or Oakland will let you try
them out and they sometimes have the double ones
around. :). We LOVE our citimini but we didn't get it
till they were 6 months old. I could be wrong but the
carseats adapters don't fit in it side by side with
two. We just used he snap and go which was easy and
cheap. A friend had a cooler more expensive one but I
don't know the name- I ca ask her if you haven gotten a

lizjohannesen, I was looking at Baby Jogger CitySelect
and even asked a mom on the street to let me try it
with her girls in it! It has an additional plus, I
think, by offering a possibility to be easily converted
into single stroller when needed (twins moms not always
take both babies everywhere, do they?) I haven't seen
any parts for it nor the stroller itself on Craigslist,
though... Do you know anyone who is selling
theirs?erinkcox, happy to get a bajillion emails :) I
think Bugaboo is very cool, but over $1,500... That's
too much.

The SF Botanical Gardens are a great escape, and are
FREE with your SF resident ID. Our little ones loved
the redwood forest (DS is obsessed with trees), and the
Cal Academy is just a short stroll away. Also, the SF
Zoo membership is totally worth it, with great walks,
and a fabulous new playground area, including those
bucket swings that our babies started loving at around
9 months. With the annual pass, you never worry about
blowing the $ if they start to melt down after only 30
minutes. Grab a seat on the back lawn at the Park
Chalet afterward for the ultimate baby-friendly
restaurant experience (no reservations needed), and
explore the paved paths behind the restaurant to see
either of the windmills.For longer road trips, I would
drive to the Lafayette Reservoir just on the other side
of the Caldecott Tunnel for a terrific 3-mile paved
loop trail around the lake. For us it was exactly one
"nap interval" away, so we would arrive refreshed for a
fun adventure. Another great shopping adventure that
is a nap away for us is the Corte Madera Town Center. A
beautiful drive for mom and dad, and a nice outdoor
mall with good, kid-friendly restaurants, and Nordstrom
has the best changing facilities in the state (separate
mother's room with couches, multiple changing tables,
and cleanup sinks).On that side of the GG Bridge, the
whole Cavallo Point area is great, with free parking,
the Bay Area Discovery Museum, kid-friendly service on
the porch restaurant at the hotel, and an awesome,
stroller-friendly paved hike up the hill, right under
the bridge to the observation area.
