<p dir="ltr">So he was fine with my reasons for wanting to do surgery rather than 8 weeks of the boot.  The surgery after care is 4 days of cast, then 4 weeks of the boot. During the 4 weeks I can act normally except like no long hikes and stuff.</p>

<p dir="ltr">For the 4 days after the surgery he wants me in bed with my foot elevated and iced at all times except for like trips to the bathroom.</p>
<p dir="ltr">That's a pretty monumental disruption for us. If people would rather I do 8 weeks of the boot, I'd certainly understand and would comply. Success rate for the boot is about 80%, I'm just worried I'd just re-tear the thing.</p>
<p dir="ltr">If I can do the surgery, we need to pick a date. He normally does them on Thursdays, and then the cast comes off on Monday.</p>
