Getzwell pediatrics just opened a location in pacific
heights. We go to dr Getzelman in one valley and love
her!

my girls are 3.5yo. just have the two, so can't offer
advice re: three. but, just want to say there won't be
much balance for a while. really. not to frighten you,
but to give you permission to not expect it. please be
gentle with yourselves. your son will have to adapt.
please don't feel sheepish about having care for him.
the more hands the better. never turn down an offer
for help. really. the first 4-6 months are pretty
intense. the first 1-4 are basically survival. slowly
life will normalize. the one year mark is a massive
milestone. just keep putting one foot in front of the
other. there's ever so much joy in your future! love
that taryn offered a 'day in the life'! x

i didn't go it alone. my husband was home at nights and
on weekends. but i stayed home for three years without
a babysitter, family (all on the east coast) and no
housekeeping help. happy to talk if you want. just
message me. getting the kids on a four meals/day
schedule - 6/7/8am (waking), 12noon, 4pm, 7/8pm - was
critical. naps fell into place. 9:30-11:30 stroller
walk outside/nap; nap in cribs from 1-3; floortime play
from 5-7 (or another stroller walk). really good
timing that he's gone during these next few months from
8-12mos while the kids are still taking two naps. once
morning nap drops and merges with afternoon nap
(anywhere between 11-16mos), things would be harder.
you can do it! you might not shower much ;) but you'll
get through it and it'll be empowering. really! msg if
you want to chat.

i had a few of these - basic nylon/spandex tank tops
that i wore every day as a base layer. they provided
tons of support while pregnant and post-partum as well.
(bought in 2011 -

had a support band that was very uncomfortable and
provided less support imo than the nylon/spandex tank.
