1. Halloween Closet
--------------------------------------------------------
clau277 - 10/1/2015 6:53 pm
Hi Parents!I'll have the closet open tomorrow (Friday
10/2) from 3-5 and Saturday (10/3) from
12:30-1:30.There are more costumes for the younger ages
than for the older ages. There are some cute pairs but
many more single costumes. There are some lions but no
tin men, that I can recall.IMPORTANT: As with prior
years, you need to bring a check made out to SFPOM.
There will be a $20 deposit PER COSTUME. If you fail
to return the costumes in good clean condition by
11/30, your deposit will go to SFPOM. Please DO NOT
BRING CASH.I'm at 745 Broderick Street. Bring your
cuties if you want to make sure the costumes will fit.
I look forward to seeing you!Best,Carolina

2. Investing in the Club...

Have you found your membership in SFPOM helpful to you
as a parent? If so - please read:Hello,
everyone~Thanks to our WONDERFUL POM MEMBERS, we've
made some progress in filling many of our open slots,
however - just a few remain, including one critical one
- the President position is still open, and very much
in need of filling, as I will have to step down by
November 15th. Despite the title, this is a
manageable position, and if the team works together,
won't take much time at all for any one person, and it
looks great on a resume! We are urgently in need of new
folks for the following positions (please inquire if
you have questions about any):* President (the POPOM!)*
Secretary& These 2 are less time-sensitive:*
Philanthropy Chair - organize a holiday drive for a
local multiples family in need* NCaMoTC Rep ("Northern
CA Mothers of Twins Clubs" Representative) - represent
our Club at a couple of meetings a yearMost of these
things take an average of less than an hour/week, but
they vary. All are done on YOUR time, w/ the exception
of occasional group meetings (tho the infrequent POM
meetings tend to be scheduled so as to include the
largest number of committee members possible.)THANK YOU
all for reading, and for considering what YOU can do.
(There are benefits to volunteering besides good karma
- discounts, in some cases, networking opps, great new
friendships and connections, work skills for your
resume, letters of reference...) Please let me know if
you'd like details on any of these. All positions are
handled by volunteer members of the Club like
yourselves, and it's a GREAT way to "give back/ pay it
forward"! This Club is ONLY as good as it's
participating members, so please do your part, and BE
the change you want to see in the Club! : D Thanks,
everyone!

The Halloween Closet IS still available -- I'll check
in with the Closet Keeper and ask her to post info on
how to check costumes out. It's a terrific resource
from which to borrow stuff, and TO which to donate new
costumes when you're through with them. Thanks!!

In addition - for anyone considering making their own
costumes (simpler than you think!) we ran an article
about this in a past issue of Multiplicity - the
Sept/October 2010 issue, which you can locate through
the "Files" tab here on BigTent... I think that issue
is on page 5 of the listings of archived items. (In
general - please check the "Articles & Recipes Index"
document in the files section, to figure out what old
articles can be found where. There is a WEALTH of
evergreen information there at your fingertips!)One
other resource for Halloween costumes: I just saw this
post on RedTricycle:
http://redtri.com/san-francisco/bay-area-costume-swap/?utm_source=Email_marketing&utm_campaign=SF_10115_The_Best_Local_Halloween_Costume_Swaps&campaigner=1&utm_medium=HTMLEmailHappy
Halloween, everyone! Hope you all can make it to the
Halloween Family Outing on the 17th - cheers!
