I developed back pain around the same time (and have a
similar awful commute). It mostly disappeared by third
trimester - thanks to yoga I think! I attended Jane's
classes at yoga tree and Marissa's Sat class at yoga
garden. Other than that, work at home days were helpful
as well as stretching, brief walks, and changing
positions often. As for a pillow, I loved my Snoogle
http://www.amazon.com/Leachco-Snoogle-Total-Pillow-White/dp/B0000635WI(But
found I needed to wedge other pillows around it by the
end). Prenatal massage was also helpful - Piece of
Peace in Noe Valley specializes in prenatal. And lots
of late night back rubs from my husband!

Hi Solen! My twins are now 13 months and I was on
modified bed rest from week 21 until delivery at week
35. My job typically requires a lot of travel and
stress, deadlines, sales goals, etc. I really had to
peel back and change the way I worked. I stopped all
travel and when being on tr computer all day hurt my
wrists, hands and arms (the awkward position of
emailing while laying in bed only worked for me for
short stints) I just started doing everything by phone.
I think my relationships with my team and colleagues
and customers really improved. I bought the
Plantronics Blacktop 500 headset for my iPhone. It has
amazing clarity and sounds better than iPhone on its
own. I digress though. Weekly visits to chiropractor
Darci Kendrick at More Mojo were instrumental. She can
work on your wrists, back, sciatica, basically anything
that ails you. For me it was different every week.
My good friend was also pregnant at same time and we
both saw her and loved her. For body pillows I
experimented with many. If I had to do it over again I
would try to bother from other moms until I found the
one I liked. I spent too much money on pillows and
just ended up donating them after 2 or 3,nights. As I
got huge the Comfort U by Moonlight Slumber was the
only one that worked. The Boppy body pillow was a
bust.

Hit send too soon. Also "borrow" not "bother". Geez.
:-)Lastly there is a book that has mixed reviews from
twin moms called "when you are expecting twins,
triplets, or quads" by Barbara Luke. Some of the
nutrition recommendations didn't resonate with me but
the parts about seriously slowing down did. I realize
everyone's situation is different but if you can at all
limit that commute or try part time work, or somehow
dial it back Ina a way that works for you and your
employer I would go for it. Are you a SF Parents of
Multiples member?Congrats on your twins!! They are so
much fun!

Thank you so much for the recommendations and for the
solidarity, everybody! I did purchase the Leachco
Snoogle body pillow and I love it! It really changed
the way I sleep. Yoga, changing positions, working from
home all help, I agree. Thankfully, since I'm a college
instructor on the semester calendar, I only have 4 more
weeks of commuting, then I'll be mostly home. I have
yet to try massages and possibly a chiropractor. Thanks
for that advice! I also just purchased the It's You
Babe Prenatal Cradle too and I'm seeing many benefits
of it. Somehow, it's improving my new twin momma
posture :)
