Henry. We do need to improve the quality of our schools for all of our
children, our teachers our staff, our community... all of us. And I
believe that improvement will have to take many forms to reflect the
diversity of our community, both at Monroe and throughout San Francisco.
<br> <br>Different people learn in different ways: one person can
absorb information from a screen; someone else will want direct human
interaction with a teacher or coach; some people sit down with paper and
pencil and figure things out that way. None are invalid, they are
simply different. What we have to be careful about is not enshrining one
difference as arbitrarily better to the exclusion of others. <br> <br>Consider
this email and the poll. Does it reach all of the families of Monroe?
If it does not, how are we asking for the input of the remaining
families? <br> <br>I believe the heart of education has to be equity for
all. Let's use this time to see what disparities are exposed in things
we have taken for granted and consider how best to address them as a
community. Digital interaction may be one of them, but I don't believe
