<p>Hello SFUSD Families,</p>

<p>We are excited for the first day of school on Monday, August 16. </p>

<p>Based on our experiences throughout last spring and this summer, we have seen that returning to in-person school can be done safely even while COVID is in our community. </p>

<p>Sending your child back to school in person is the very best way for them to learn and connect with others. </p>

<p>Here are some things we need your help with: </p>

<ul>
        <li>Stay at home if you are sick or have any unusual symptoms. If your child is not feeling well, wait until they recover from all of their symptoms before returning to school. Let your child’s school know they are out sick and their absence will be excused. </li>
        <li>Get tested if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or think you have been exposed.</li>
        <li>Wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth at all times on the bus and when indoors at school! If your child has a medical exemption provide a doctor’s note to your school principal.</li>
        <li>Finally, get vaccinated if you are able to -- it is the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community. </li>
