<p>Please be advised that <strong>all SFUSD schools will be in session tomorrow (Wednesday, January 4, 2023)</strong>. </p>

<p>The National Weather Service is forecasting a storm system that will bring rain and strong winds to the region on Wednesday and Thursday. SFUSD is closely monitoring updates related to the storm in consultation with the City and County of San Francisco, and will provide additional updates to staff and families in case the situation evolves. </p>

<p>We are taking the necessary precautions to prepare for the storm so that our schools can be safe spaces for learning, that students can receive essential services, and so that students are in the care of an adult.</p>

<p>During periods of inclement weather, our first priority is the safety and welfare of our students and staff. At the same time, we recognize that canceling school can be burdensome to families due to childcare and work schedules, not to mention the loss of instruction as well as access to important services. We consider canceling school to be a rare exception, and we place a strong emphasis on keeping our schools open safely to maximize instruction.</p>
