<p dir="ltr">Dear Monroe Elementary School Staff & Families:</p>

<p dir="ltr">I am writing to provide you with an update about the assistant principal position.</p>

<p dir="ltr">As I previously wrote to you in early April 2023, we announced that the current Assistant Principal, Jose Gomez-Melendez, made the decision to pursue other professional opportunities in Southern California. We again thank Mr. Gomez-Melendez for his four years of service to the Monroe students, staff, and families. </p>

<p dir="ltr">A site recommendation committee composed of teachers, staff, parents, and the principal interviewed eligible candidates this past month, and recommended two finalist candidates to the Associate Superintendent for final interviews, one of whom was selected for final appointment as the assistant principal.</p>

<p dir="ltr">I am pleased to announce Mr. Telmo Vasquez has been appointed as the incoming Assistant Principal of Monroe Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. </p>

<p dir="ltr">I look forward to continuing our partnership in support of the Monroe Elementary School community to build on its legacy of educational excellence.</p>
