It is recommended that the student inform an adult as soon as possible to allow for a facilitated conversation, investigation, or other possible necessary steps.<br/></p><p style="margin:0;font:15px/1.5 sans-serif;color:#111;"><br/></p><p style="margin:0;font:15px/1.5 sans-serif;color:#111;">When there is student conflict or negative student behavior, there is an expectation to attempt to resolve or respond to the situation in a restorative manner. This may look like a Restorative Conversation, Family Meeting, Detention with Learning Modules, and/or Community Service. In most circumstances that are allowable by Ed Code, suspension is the absolute last result.</p><p style="margin:0;font:15px/1.5 sans-serif;color:#111;"><br/></p><p style="margin:0;font:15px/1.5 sans-serif;color:#111;">Our adolescent students are developing and learning themselves while also learning to navigate friendships and relationships. We teach and encourage our students to have healthy conflict by assisting with facilitating conversations and teaching coping skills.</p><p style="margin:0;font:15px/1.5 sans-serif;color:#111;"><br/></p><p style="margin:0;font:15px/1.5 sans-serif;color:#111;"><strong>Physical Aggression/Fighting:</strong> Physical Aggression and fighting are very serious offenses. Everett is a safe space for all individuals. Students should not play fight or rough house as this can lead to physical harm or more severe physical aggression. As stated above, if there is a conflict that students cannot resolve on their own, students may access peer mediation or receive support from a counselor or other trusted adult on site.</p>
