                                                <p><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">Congratulations! We made it to the last day of school, and you've made it to my last email to you as your student's 7th grade science teacher. </span></p><p><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">It has been a pleasure having this 7th grade group this year! On Tuesday, students were allowed to demolish their structures that they built for Unit 4 with permission from their group members. Some students decided to take home their structures, so I apologize if you have something new decorating your home :) </span></p><p><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">On Tuesday (despite Wednesday being the actual first day of school), we had our final goodbye and I reminded the students that I know that I am a challenging teacher with high expectations, but I told them that I would not have done that if I did not think that they were capable. After many years of teaching freshman biology, I am determined to make sure my 7th grade students got a glimpse of what it was like to be challenged and know that they can succeed. I know that was not the case for all of them, but I hope they reflect on 7th grade on how they can be a better student next year. With my goodbyes, I wished them well and let them know that they are always welcomed back into my room or to ask me for help, and I hope you know that you are able to as well.</span></p><p><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">I wish you all the best this summer, and for your students as they continue on their academic journey. I hope they will take what they've learned from class (academic or non-academic) and be able to apply it to their everyday lives.</span></p><p><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">And with that, thank you for sharing in your student's journey and for reading what you could with these emails. I hope you found them helpful as I know middle school life is also not the easiest for our families. </span></p><p><span style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;">Take care,</span></p><p>Mrs. Jennifer Estrella (she/her)<br>7th Grade Science<br>Herbert Hoover Middle School</p>
