<p dir="ltr">I want to take a moment to acknowledge the recent incidents of violence that have deeply affected communities across the country and, more closely, our own right here in San Francisco. These events are unsettling and, understandably, may cause fear and concern for the safety of our students, staff, and families.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Please know that here in SFUSD, the safety and well-being of everyone in our school community is our highest priority. We take many steps to keep our campuses safe, supportive, and welcoming spaces. This includes:</p>

<p dir="ltr">We are committed to vigilance, transparency, and care in all we do, and continue to work closely with our elected leaders and city partners. While we cannot control events outside our schools, we can – and will – do everything within our power to keep our schools safe and our community supported, including but not limited to implementing a variety of safety measures such as: visitor check-in procedures, locked doors after the start of the school day, surveillance cameras, public announcement systems, and security locks. </p>
