<p dir="ltr"><b id="docs-internal-guid-2a40f0f8-7fff-320d-6a67-9e90e63c730c">I am writing to share information about the ongoing news regarding the budget reductions in SFUSD. Many of you may have seen or heard early reports before we had the chance to communicate directly and I want to acknowledge how unsettling that can feel. This is not the way we would ever want you to receive information that may impact us as a school community.</b></p>
<p dir="ltr"><b id="docs-internal-guid-2a40f0f8-7fff-320d-6a67-9e90e63c730c">We have been working to understand the details and the potential implications for our school. Our plan has been to begin conversations with our School Site Councils family groups, students and staff starting so that we can approach this event thoughtfully and collaboratively.</b></p>
<p dir="ltr"><b id="docs-internal-guid-2a40f0f8-7fff-320d-6a67-9e90e63c730c">While the cuts are significant, we are committed to a collaborative process where possible and we will communicate transparently about where we have opportunities to build consensus to take feedback and areas where we do not. Your voices and perspectives matter. We know that news like this can bring up worry, frustration, or questions, especially in a time when so much feels uncertain. We will continue to share information as we learn more.</b></p>
<p dir="ltr"><b id="docs-internal-guid-2a40f0f8-7fff-320d-6a67-9e90e63c730c">No matter the challenges we face, our focus continues to be on ensuring that our school is a place where every student feels a sense of belonging, safety, and access to high-quality learning every day.</b></p>
<p dir="ltr"><b id="docs-internal-guid-2a40f0f8-7fff-320d-6a67-9e90e63c730c">There will be two upcoming Board of Education meetings on 12/9 and Tuesday 12/16 where the Superintendent and Board of Education (BOE) will share more information publicly about the current budget conditions and next steps. The meetings will be in person and virtual. Once we have clear, accurate details about how these reductions may affect our school, we will communicate them with you.</b></p>
