<li><strong>We need your back to school paperwork!</strong> If you have not signed your students’ Independence Study agreement and accompanying paperwork, we need it ASAP. Please sign and return it with your student.</li>
<li role="presentation"><strong>Save the date. </strong>Back to School Night is September 15 from 530-7pm. Meet your students’ teachers, enjoy some dinner, and find out what’s happening here at IHS!</li>
<li role="presentation"><strong>Lunch clubs.</strong> Is your student interested in joining or leading a lunch club? <li role="presentation"><strong>STAR testing.</strong> STAR testing will begin in advisory on Friday, August 28. This test gives you, your student, and teachers information about students’ strengths as areas where they may need additional support. Student results DO NOT go towards their final grade. The test just helps us better understand how to support your students’ learning and growth.</li>
<li role="presentation"><strong>Snack, snacks, snacks!</strong> Teens love snacks and that’s how we show them support and appreciation. <li><strong>Horizons is offering Strengthening Families Program</strong> (SFP) which is a 14 week cycle for parents/caregivers of 5th graders and middle school aged youth and focuses on improving parenting skills, family relationships, and life skills, addresses teen behaviors while supporting their goals and dreams, and teaches parents how to communicate with their children on the topics of alcohol and drugs. Sessions are offered in both English and Spanish, bilingual is preferred. Childcare is provided for children under the age of 10.
