<li role="presentation"><strong>Back to School Night is September 15 5-7pm.</strong> Meet your students’ teachers, other parents, and stay for dinner. See you there!</li>
<li role="presentation"><strong>Black Student Union (and with lunch!)</strong> begins this week on Wednesday at 12:15pm. BSU is a place where students can connect, build community, play games, learn about Black history and current events, talk about things that matter to them, and just enjoy hanging out together. We’ll have lunch for all who attend!</li>

<p><strong>Wellness</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Q Group at IHS </strong>will meet every Thursday (starting Thursday, 10/01). Q-Group is a space for LGBTQ+ or questioning students to build community with one another and learn from each other's experiences regarding gender, sexuality, and identity. Wellness will be partnering with the community organization LYRIC, who will be sending two consistent facilitators each week to lead the group. If you have any questions about Q-Group or are interested in more details, please reach out to Marcus in the Wellness Center at corralm@sfusd.edu or (415)633-6906.</li>
<li><strong>Advocating for Your Black Child (A4YBC) </strong>is a free, 8‑week series designed specifically for Black parents and caregivers of Black children and youth (elementary through high school). This culturally responsive, trauma‑informed program provides parenting interventions that address the intersectionality of race and other critical issues impacting Black families, including mental health, neurological, and learning differences. Participants will gain valuable tools and resources to support their children’s behavioral and learning needs while navigating school, political, and social systems.Classes are led by trained clinical and health professionals of African descent who are also parents and deeply understand the unique needs of this community.
