1. Mandarin Immersion Preschool Expanding to Elementary
--------------------------------------------------------
glorial - 11/9/2011 11:21 pm
Our 3 year old triplets attend Presidio Knolls School
(PKS), a progressive Mandarin immersion preschool in
SOMA, and are thriving. We just love the program, the
teachers and the tight-knit community. The school is
also expanding with an elementary school program
starting fall 2012 with kindergarten and first grade.
If you're looking for a great school with a language
immersion program, it's definitely worth checking out.
The school is hosting an elementary school information
session the evening of November 17th and December 14
from 6-8pm. If you're interested, please visit
www.presidioknolls.org.

2. Baby Registry and Twin Essentials

Feeling overwhelmed with registering for the baby
shower. Any tips? I don't want to reinvent the wheel so
I turn to you. What things are essential for twins?
What could you not live without? and what was a waist
of money and space? Also, any advice on the best place
to register? Thanks! :) (I searched for an old thread
pertaining to this topic but didn't find what I'm
looking for so if you know of a previous conversation
please show me the way)

3. Where did you park? November guest speaker - Symbio

rinnigan - 11/9/2011 8:05 pm
I just tried to attend the November guest speaker event
but gave up after 30 min of fruitless searching for a
parking spot. Chalk that up to bad parking karma, I
guess. Did anyone else have this experience? To those
of you who attended, do you have any suggestions for
where to look for a spot? I'd like to attend future
events.JenniferJennifer

4. Looking to borrow snow boots/snow jacket/pants for 4.5 yr
boy/girl twins
--------------------------------------------------------
urmantwins - 11/9/2011 6:32 pm
We are taking the kids to Lake Tahoe this Thanksgiving.
This is our first vacation in Lake Tahoe, so we don't
really have any snow gears to prepare the kids for the
cold weather. And we just missed the snow closet
closure email, so if you have any snow gears laying
around, we would love to borrow from you. or if you
want to unload them, we are interested to buy as well.
Please contact me offline. Thanks in advance. Rosetta

5. Support Group for Parents o' Toddlers - anyone interested?
--------------------------------------------------------
nataliasha2004 - 11/9/2011 3:21 pm
I'm wondering if there's any interest out there in
reviving the "Toddler Support Group" that apparently
used to exist. I can't be the only one out there
wondering if 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday is too early for
martinis... can I? And IS it?!? I understand that
there used to be quarterly meetings held at a space at
Kaiser (near Geary/Masonic). So, 2 questions:1. Any
other occasionally frazzled parents of occasionally
challenging, boundary-exploring kidlets interested in
attending something like this (w/ or w/out said
kidlets)?2. Anyone interested in being in charge of
this? This would definitely fulfill your volunteer
requirement (not to mention be HUGE karma points!!) I
believe there is an existing model we could follow, so
it'd be more admin stuff than reinventing the wheel...
and quarterly is not so bad... right? Thanks, in advance
~NatashaALTERNATELY - I see that no one's really using
the "Support Group - Toddlers" message board... maybe
those of us who are interested can post there, so as
not to bug folks who've already been through this phase
(or scare those who haven't gotten there yet??)

6. Sandpiper says...
--------------------------------------------------------

Hi Natasha, I haven't been to the old format meetings -
what were they like? I would be interested in something
with the kids, more like play dates? What would the
kids do while we chat? Can't promise to attend meetings
and definitely not an organizer type, but please keep
me in the loop! The other thing I would be interested
in - getting together for a morning coffee while kids
are in day care (3 mornings a week), though we are
touring preschools now, so might be hard to fit in.
Thanks for starting the discussion!

Does anyone use a house cleaning service that they
like? If so, do you recommend a particular person at
the service?Thanks!
