The Symbio gals offered a great handout of
educationally-appropriate toys for different age levels
at one of the recent POM talks - I'm happy to post it
to the Files section here... it's really handy! In
general, I've found that when our kids don't seem
interested in a given thing, if we put it away for a
month or 2 and try it again, it oftens gets a totally
different response... and I think trains and
dollhouses would be GREAT for both of them (if not this
second, then soon, I'm sure.) Those seem like the
kinds of classic toys that really grow along w/ their
imaginations. (I can't WAIT to dig out my old doll
house - but it's more for older kids, so I have to try
to be patient a while longer... argh!)

File is posted - see "Toys: developmentally-appropriate
play materials" or something like that.
