Please also consider volunteering to help with planning
the monthly speaker meetings. There is no scheduled
meeting in June and 4 or 5 events need to be planned
for the fall. If interested in taking over, have ideas
for speakers or topics let me know. Thanks,James

We are trying to plan what kind of help we will need
for our twins when they arrive this fall. We will be at
my mom's house for the first month or two so we will
have some help, but she is getting older and although
she wants to do a lot - I know she will get really
tired. With that said, I'd like to get some
recommendations on what has worked for people in a
similar situation. Please let me know what you recommend
- night nanny for the first month, few months, daytime
nanny after that? Or daytime nanny all the way? I would
like to do things on my own as well if I can after
recovery...while I'm home until I go back to work in
3-4 months of their arrival. All thoughts are
welcome!Thank you in advance!

3. 16 month messy feeding - its gotten crazy!

Hi All,My 16 mo girls have gotten to be so crazy messy
and demanding when eatingin their high chairs... every
time I feed them I just dread it because theystart
throwing food on the floor, making a big mess, refusing
to be spoonfed, yelling for me to give them specific
items off the table, gettingtheir bibs off, trying to
squirm out of their high chairs, ect. I know thisis a
phase, and of curse it make sense they want to spoon
feed themselvesand have control over the whole feeding
process but I don't recall thingsbeing so out of
control with my son. Any suggestions on how to
startcalming things down a bit? One bite at a time?
:)Thanks,-Aleks

Have you tried giving them finger food? Maybe just give
up on the spoon feeding for a while so it's not such a
battle. Another thing to try is to set a rule that
throwing food on the floor immediately ends the meal.
Try not to get angry or show much reaction (so they
don't try to work to get a reaction), just calmly put
everything away and take them out of their chairs. I
haven't been through this phase with twins yet, so
maybe it's worse than with a singleton... Yikes. You
can also invest in a couple of splat mats to contain
the mess.

Topic: Pediatrician & Dentist on Peninsula
Hi Moms,
We are moving to the peninsula and I'll need to find a new

San
Carlos; San Mateo). Flex evening and weekend hours (for
both regular and drop-in appts) - Check the office near
you for specifics. Impressed with both the quality and
warmth of the docs (our kids are 5, so we've seen a lot
of the staff @ Seton/Daly City/San Mateo) --
informative, conversant, and non-alarmist. Experienced
with multiples. Organized, timely, and responsive
front-office staff. Centralized billing for all
offices. Easy to get to, free and plentiful parking @
most offices. Our dentist, Shore View Dental
(http://www.shoreviewdental.net/) is terrific - they're
in Pacifica, 1st exit (Manor) @ north end of town.
Husband/wife team, Dr. Sepi Vafi is the peds dentist,
and she's simply wonderful. They have two kids of their
own, so understand the kid thing, and the office staff
is organized, on time, and on the ball.Congrats on your
move! Getting a lay of the land, getting settled, and
finding new providers can be a job in itself!Best,-
