1. Pregnant with twins - what to wear in the 3rd trimester??

zs_mom - 11/28/2012 6:19 pm
So, I am 29 weeks on Friday, but measuring 40 weeks if
I were having a singleton. Nothing fits!! I am off of
work already, so thankfully I don't have to worry about
nicer things to wear everyday, but I am even struggling
with finding shirts to cover my belly and something
comfy to wear to bed. Also, I want at least one nice
thing to wear for the holidays and don't know where to
look. Help!

Hi,I am looking to schedule a session with one of the
lactation consultants at Newborn Connections and wanted
to see if there are any recommendations of people that
twin moms have used and liked. Thanks!!

Topic: Did any of you NOT experience a decrease in supply
when you returned to work FT?
Hi moms-- I have been feeding my twins breast milk
exclusively for a couple of months...

I pumped far more than breast fed, so it's
understandable that my supply didn't drop when I
returned to work. However, if you feel your supply is
dropping, I recommend the herb Fenugreek, best
purchased on drugstore.com. It really worked for
upping my supply when I wanted to. Best of luck on
your return to work!

Here were some tips that works for me. I went back to
work full time at 5.5 months, and was able to maintain
supply so they got solely breastmilk when I was gone
until a year. IT WAS VERY HARD AND A LOT OF
WORK.--fenugreek--wake up early and pump a few ounces
("to take the edge off") right when you get up, before
you shower, and get yourself all ready, then nurse
babies before you leave--experiment over the first few
weeks to figure out what times you need to pump at work
to get the best output (for me, it was about 9:30 or 10
am (after nursing at about 7:15), noonish and
2ish--never pumped after 3 pm to make sure I had
something for babies when I got home--nursed the second
I got home at 5:45ish, then again at bedtime at
7--pumped around 8 after the babies were asleep--pumped
at 10, but just a mini pump (about 8-10 minutes, for
just one letdown)--took a break and pumped at 10:30,
same as the earlier one (I found that two smaller
pumping sessions late at night were better than one
regular one for me)--tried to pump once during the day
on the weekend--maintained same night pumping schedule
on the weekendSometimes I found myself having trouble
falling asleep at night doing math in my head about how
much I was pumping. I kept a little notebook and kept
records to the quarter ounce about how much I was
pumping and how much they were eating on a daily basis.
I rented a Symphony to have in my office and kept my
pump in style at home. I don't mean to scare you, it's
definitely possible, you can return to work full time
and make enough milk for your babies. I had to work
very very hard to do it. I know of other people (with
just one baby, though) who apparently had better
pumping output than I did, because they could just pump
once during the day at work and make enough with just
one pre-bedtime pump.Miserable as it sounds, if you
aren't making enough, you can always wake up at 3 am or
so a few days a week and pump then -- supply is high
then and it's a great way to make an extra bottle. Good
luck! You can do it!
