1. How to increase pumping volume?
--------------------------------------------------------
jeccat - 10/30/2012 9:16 pm

I am currently EBF my3.5 mo twins, and because I am
going back to work in a month I've had a couple of "dry
runs" where my nanny took them for a couple of feedings
while I pumped. Unfortunately, although they seem
satisfied when I feed them at the breast, they are
drinking more from the bottle (~5 oz per baby) than I
am pumping (~4 oz per breast, even after 25 min on the
pump-- most of that in the first 15 min). So... What
are the chances they're really drinking 5 oz at the
breast? And if they really are eating 5 oz per feeding
(and they eat 7-8 times per day, so that seems like a
lot), what can I do to increase my supply? Is there
some trick with the settings (I'm using a medela
freestyle)? Must I rent a hospital pump? Will I get
more if I pump for ten min, take a ten min break, and
then pump again? Some other trick? Already looking at
pics of the babies, visualizing milk waterfalls,
etc...On the other hand, if they don't really need it,
should I tell my nanny to give them only 4 oz per feed?

ETA that an additional pumping session is probably not
feasible once I'm back at work-- I already pump 2x per
day on top of the seven BF sessions in order to fill
the 2:30 am bottle feed that my husband or the night
nanny does-- and I don't know when I would do it unless
I set an alarm for 4 am!

Hi all, My friend wrote a cookbook with good,
wholesome, organic recipes and shows you how to involve
your kids in each step. I wish this book were around
when I had toddlers! It is on sale at Amazon.com and
 would make perfect holiday
 gifts.http://www.amazon.com/The-Whole-Family-Cookbook-Celebrate/dp/B007HW354W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351547769&sr=8-1
search for parks, filter by amenities and
find your way there from your phone.

Thank you for the tips! Yes, we are staying on the
probiotics (Natren LifeStart for infants, and I am also
taking adult ones) and I think they might be helping?
Not really sure. I will try a couple other brands of
bottle and see if that helps....

PriyaP, we're in the same situation. Our twins are 7.5
wks old now and baby boy eats quickly and gets hungry
before baby girl. We have tried to stall him at times
and other times awaken her to feed. To fully wake her
up, we change her diaper first. She takes some or half
of the bottle. Then she starts falling asleep again and
we tickle her toes, dab a cold washcloth on her
hand/foot/etc, blow on her...sometimes it works,
sometimes it doesn't. Now I'm starting to notice if we
let them cry a bit and get really hungry, they eat
better. Email me and we can chat some more!

Hi, we hired Vivian when our twins were 4 months old.
Within 3 days they were both sleeping through the
night. Of course, with that outcome, we can only rave
about her. At that time, being so sleep deprived, there
was no way that we were in any condition to read or
implement or synthesize a book. We needed a real person
to tell us what to do. You might be in a better place
having already sleep trained one child. Vivian came to
our house to get to know us, the kids, the set up, the
routine. She made some recommendations about things and
gave very specific directions about put down, routine,
etc. I suspect that alot of that we could have gotten
from books, had we been in a place where we could
actually focus and read.... The BEST part was all the
follow up. I spoke wih Vivian 2- times per day for a
month. She always calle to check in, answer questions,
support us. That was the real value, in my opinion.
Yes, you could probably get all the info you need from
a book and do it your self. But for us, that wasn't
really an option. And, for what it's worth, my kids are
now 3.5 years and have I called Vivian a couple of
other times along the way and she's been great. For us,
she was a life saver. All the best to you and your
 babies. Betsy

thank you megjean and moeekashah! This helps
 tremendously. I still can't believe this doesn't have a
cup holder that fits it for the stroller. :)When I fold
the stroller to put in the trunk, do you have to take
out the 2nd seat attachment so it fits, it seems to
stick out. Is this correct or am I missing something
here?lborkow, I like the stroller except for the fact
it doesn't have a cup holder already built in. very
sturdy and great for walks around the city.
