1. Different Nap Schedules - 6 months
--------------------------------------------------------
rebeccaadaly - 4/1/2013 7:47 pm

My 6 month old boys are finally (!!) napping in their
beds. We have a fairly consistent morning wake up time
and start time for the first nap. I'm also strict about
not letting them sleep past 4:30 so we can get to bed
at 7pm. However, they wake up from the morning nap at
really different times - like 30-60 minutes different.
One has always needed more sleep than the other. It
leaves me a bit puzzled as to how to deal with the
middle part of the day. We've also just started solids,
so I'm trying to formulate some kind of schedule that
is consistent.Do you always wake your babies up at the
same time? How much difference do you allow? Anyone
going for alternating nap times? I would do it (might
be nice to have 1-on-1 time), but I don't know how we'd
ever leave the house. Also, how long are your 6 month
olds awake before going down for the next nap? Thanks
 for the input!

hello parents, my husband and I are venturing on our
first air travel with the twins this week. any advice
for keeping the babies entertained on our laps for 5
hours(!)?? I'm kind of freaking out about it. I hope
I can get them to sleep but not that optimistic since
they usually sleep in cribs or carseats and will be on
 our laps. All advice welcome.

Some great tips that either we figured out ourselves or
learned on these boards:-Bring the strollers to the
gate and check at the gate. We found that using 2
single strollers was easier than the double stroller
(we tend to have something break when we use something
other than a single stroller). -If you use the double
stroller, purchase a long velcro strip to hold the
stroller together (i.e. tie the wheel bar to the side
bar of the back of the stroller).- Bring a carrier
(i.e. Moby or Ergo, etc). You can wear your baby as
long as you don't fall asleep.- Time their feed so that
they are just hungry enough to want to have a full feed
when you are taking off.-Sit in the back of the plane
near a bathroom.-In your diaper bag, have a seperate
zip lock for one of the babies that you can give to the
other person carrying one of the twins. The zip lock
has 2 diapers, some separated wipes (for 2 uses), a
snack (i.e. Gerber crunchies or banana, 2 teething
sticks, a onsie or romper, and a milk.-Bring your iPad
that has Mickey Mouse (or equivalent) downloaded on
there (buy on iTunes, etc). If wifi is not available,
you can always play it. If you buy a DVD, it has 3
episodes back to back. -Fly out of the Virigin
Terminal at SFO. They have a newer play area for
 kids.Good luck!

A few more suggestions I just thought of.....- Pack the
baby food that comes in packs (like Plum or
equivalent). It was less messy/bulky and you can close
it easily. The biggest trouble was getting through
security when the babies couldn't stand by themselves.
What we encountered:- Any bottles that have milk in it
(i.e. breastmilk or formula) will need to get checked
individually (i.e. you'll get pulled aside). - So
consolidate the bottles (and liquids) to 1 person's bag
so the other person can take care of getting the
 stroller or strollers
