Sleep training usually consists of setting up a bedtime
routine so that your kids can go to sleep by
themselves. Some kids wake up in the middle of the
night (or not) for another feed or two - that really
varies. But essentially, sleep training is about helping
your kids soothe themselves and not be dependent on you
to fall asleep. The Ferber or Crying it Out method is
related to this as well. Our kids were sleep trained at
around 5 months; it took about a week (roughly) with
somewhere between 10 to 15 mins of crying. Our twins
started sleeping through the night at around 10 weeks
 but that's a separate thing.
