The issue appears to be (1) the discussion themselves are directly
related to familial cohesion; you can't learn about your grandpa's
first business if you're all yelling at each other and (2) if you
present life as a series of ups and downs that we overcome in the
end, children internalize that they can overcome obstacles and
setbacks.
