This issue has a great list of nanny interview
questions that I want to pass on to a new POM family.
Unfortunately my son scribbled all over my copy. Also,
coincidentally, the page I have has a portion of an
article on transitioning to preschool on the back,
which I can really use about now. I checked the
archives, but only see two 2009 issues, and this isn't
one of them. Does anyone have an electronic version you
 can post?Thanks!Rose-Ellen

3. Talk to me about traveling with 5.5 month old twins and a
3-year-old

We will be traveling to FLorida in April with our 5.5
month old twins and our 3 year old. The toddler can
walk through the airport, so no need for a stroller for
him there, but he sometimes gets lazy with longer walks
(which we will be taking to the beach, etc). Some
questions:1) How do you go through the airport? Ie,
ergos, double stroller, one small stroller and one ergo
(and check the double stroller)?2) What double stroller
do you travel with? We have a City Select for the city,
which we love. But it is huge and I don't want it to
get damaged. Did you purchase a double umbrella and
gate check it?3) What gear would you say is absolutely
necessary at 5.5 months? Pack n plays plus...4) Any
 other advice?Thank you!

4. Do I go in or not?

ppatcat - 3/27/2013 11:53 am

Up until a few days ago, our 6.5 month old b/g twins
would wake together at 7:30 am or if they didn't, our
son would sing to himself while our daughter sucked her
thumb and stared at him through the crib slats. For the
last couple of days though our son has been waking at
~6:45 am, fussing, crying, and rolling over until we go
in at 7:30 to "wake" them up, change, play and feed
them breakfast. Our daughter still just sucks her
thumb and stares at him.I hate hearing our son crying,
but I'm worried about going in and disrupting the
entire morning and potentially daily schedule that
they've been on for months now. Plus, I wake up at
7:15am and relish those few minutes before my day
really starts.Am I being selfish? I'd like him to
re-learn how to sing to himself or keep himself
entertained until we go in. I know he's not starving
because he quiets down as soon as he see us as opposed
to crying until he gets breakfast.Again, am I being
 selfish?

No, I don't think you are being selfish at all. As
long as it's not bc he's crying or had just pooped or
something I would let him cry for a bit and continue to
go in around 7:15-7:30. I let mine cry every day in
the morning for a bit and they are fine.

Topic: Heating solids (puree)

How do you heat up solid food for the babies? We puree and
 freeze vegetables/fruits...

I am guessing it does as I've never heard of
refrigerated food losing that, and it only needs to be
in there for a few hours for it to defrost. It seems
"better" than microwaving to me, but I have no proof of
 that.

Topic: First haircut?

Our baby boy's hair is getting long. Does anyone have
recommendations for a first haircut place?

We like Raissa at Snippety Crickets near JCC. I think
 it's $19 but very worth it : (415)
