Hardly Strictly Bluegrass on October 4-6

This year's free festival, which takes place Friday through Sunday in Hellman Hollow
and Lindley and Marx Meadows in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, features such 
widely celebrated artists as Bonnie Raitt, Boz Scaggs, Los Lobos, Steve Martin, 
Conor Oberst, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley, Chris Isaak and the String
Cheese Incident.

U.S. Women's National Soccer Team Plays at Candlestick on October 27

U.S. Women's National Team head coach Tom Sermanni has named a roster of 25 players
who will be in with the U.S. WNT over various periods from Oct. 15-30. The USA plays
three friendly matches, facing  New Zealand on Oct. 27 in San Francisco (3:30 p.m.

Mobile Rec at Herz Playground on October 5

Come out and play on the Recreation and Parks Department's Mobile Rec gear! No need
to travel far, all through the school year the equipment rotate through parks or
 recreation centers all over San Francisco on Saturdays from 11am to 2pm. You will
be able to learn techniques and test your skills on the Department's 30-foot rock
climbing wall or get skateboarding and biking tips and learn tricks from RecPark
 Staff! Get ready to ride the ramps, rails and manual pads on our BMX bikes and 
skateboards. RPD staff will be on hand to teach beginner's the basics of kick-turns,
fakies, and dropping in.

This Saturday, October 5, Mobile Rec will be at Herz Playground (near Coffman Pool)
1700 Visitacion Avenue.

Half Off Golf Instruction Lessons Through October 25

Mitch Lowe, PGA Class A member, has been teaching golf for 17 years in Northern 
California. He has won the Player of the Year award for the Northern California 
PGA five times in 2000, 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2012.  He has participated in multiple
PGA Tour events including the AT&T National Pro-Am and Reno-Tahoe Open as well as
playing in three Majors including; 2009 PGA Championship at Hazeltine CC, the 2010
PGA Championship at Whistling Straits GC and the 2012 PGA Championship at Kiawah
 IslandGC.

Mitch's primary goal is to help players increase their enjoyment of the game by 
giving them the understanding and tools for more efficient practice and better performance
on the golf course.

The focus is always on how the golf club is moving during the swing and what effect
that has on the golf ball.  Any swings changes that are made will be done to directly
correct and improve ball flight.  These changes are made simply and naturally with
easy and manageable swing thoughts which translate into immediate results.  Mitch
specializes in preparing young players for high school and college competition through
solid swing fundamentals, good course management and consistent practice routines.

or group lessons for men and women, Mitch welcomes the opportunity to assist all
 players in elevating their golf skills and their love for the game.
