1. Remind me how to look after myself while pregnant?
--------------------------------------------------------
anonymous - 10/8/2013 10:58 pm

After three rounds of IVF, and years of trying, I'm
pregnant! And, my HCG Beta levels look like it might
be multiples AGAIN (mine are old enough that I'm
looking forward to that). This has been so hard and so
expensive, I want to do everything right. Please
remind me of all the good things I should do while
pregnant. E.g., last time my husband made me eat a
boiled egg every day, i drank five glasses of milk, I
stopped wearing toenail polish, stopped drinking coffee
etc. What worked for you? (like, I think swimming
helped me to get to 38 weeks last time.) Also (heh
heh), what did you get away with -- did you drink
coffee and wine every day and still have 7 lb babies?
Sorry for the anon post -- my husband is very private
about our news, but know that I am grateful for your
 advice.

Does anyone have 1 or 2 CARES harnesses I can borrow
for a Thanksgiving trip? 5 hour flight with 2 1-year
olds and don't want to hold on our laps the whole time.
 Thanks a million!!

5. Housing wanted: 2+BR in SF, Marin or East Bay, January-May

We're expected twin girls in early February and looking
for a 2+bedroom house or apartment in San Francisco,
Marin or the East Bay for approximately 6 months
starting in January. I'm a Foreign Service Officer
with the State Department, and my partner writes ESL
curriculum for SFUSD. We're normally overseas or in
Washington but would like to be around family in the
Bay Area for as long as possible after the birth of our
babies. We are happy to pay market value rent or be in
 a housesitting situation. Thanks,Claire

I tried carrying one baby thru with the Ergo at SFO in
July, and they said by doing so I had to be subjected
to additional screening on the other side. I ended up
having to hand the baby off to the husband (while he
struggled with her brother and all the bags, carseats,
and the stroller by himself) while I waited for a
female assist to do a full and very thorough pat-down.
If your goal is to avoid disrupting the baby, my advice
would be to take off the Ergo and carry the baby
through bare-handed.We just completed another 5-airport
tour of the east coast, and none of the TSA agents
(EWR, JFK, BOS) had a problem with liquids for the
babies when we declared them and handed them over for
inspection ahead of time. You may be required to run
them through the x-ray, but if they are still
factory-sealed, most agents are pretty forgiving and
just hand-carry them around to the back end of security
 for you.Good luck! Also, FWIW,

oops, hit "submit" too early. FWIW, the ergo on the
plane worked really well for us, too. We bought an
extra seat so one baby could chill in the carseat, but
whichever one was one strapped to my chest slept thru
takeoff and landing. Strangers were also a lot less
nosy and grabby when babies were strapped to me vs. out
on a lap or in the stroller.

We just took our 6 week olds to France for 6 weeks. So
when we left they were 6 weeks and when we returned
they were close to months. We used the Ergos and never
had to take them off at security. We checked in our
car seats and a double snap and go. I don't recommend
going through security with the stroller - especially
if it's a snap and go - they make you break it all
down. We did that on the way out and it was a
nightmare. To check in the car seats and bases we
purchased bags at Ikea that cost less than 10$ each. I
can't remember how much we paid but it was cheap and
fit the seats and bases perfectly. We didn't have to
pay extra to check in the stroller, car seats and bases
because they were considered baby luggage. Make sure
you confirm amounts of luggage you can check in prior
so that you are not surprised. We also traveled with
about 4 bottles of breast milk or formula (Depending).
On the way out we were lucky and had two extra seats
next to us and and we kept one of he girls in a boppy
which we placed in the seat. The boppy was a pain to
carry but a lifesaver to have both in the plane and at
our final destination.Generally there are two types of
people I encountered - the ones who just look at you
and the babies and comment "oh how cute, are they twins
etc..." and the others who comment AND give you a hand.
Don't be afraid to ask for help in the airport and on
the airplane. The flight attendants are happy (usually)
to hold your baby if you have to go to the bathroom and
your partner can't take care of both babies. Anyway,
feel free to contact me if you want advice - we learned
A LOT recently the sink or swim style. Happy
 travels!Leah

I have a belly band for sale. I am unable to post it on
the classifieds for some reason. Upsie Belly - Belly
Bandit Pregnancy Support Band and Wrap - $60 originally
paid $80 at Pea in Pod. Let me know if you or anyone
needs it. It served me well. I couldn't have made it to
 39.5 weeks without it!

I made it to 38 weeks with almost 15 pounds of baby in
me (they were 7.5 and 7.0 lbs each). I also lived in my
Gabrialla belly cradle (suggested to me by the ladies
at Natural Resources). It was a bit more structured
than just a belt, with boning and adjustable elastic:
