Neesie - congrats on the twins! My sister is single
and has twins. It's been an experience. We had
triplets and hired a night nanny. I interviewed local
people but found that many also had day jobs and were
very pricey. We ended up hiring a British "night
nurse" for our triplets - which was the same cost as a
local night nanny but worked many more hours (including
day hours). We used frequent flier miles to get her
here. Then thankfully we discovered live-in au pairs
 - they were much less expensive, did the night feeding
(I was breast feeding 3 so I needed to sleep a solid 7
hours to do that) and was only $350 a week for 45
hours. I have placed many au pairs with single moms.
It's hard enough to be a single mom to a singleton but
twins - IMO, you really need back-up that is living
with you to keep your sanity and energy. If I had a
choice between an expensive night nurse and an au pair
 - I would definitely choose an au pair (assuming that
 you have an extra room).Deb

 I forgot to add - I have a 2nd year au pair that I'm
looking to place in January that was a neonatal nurse
in Germany. She looks amazing! She spent her first
year in Albany, NY with a family with an infant and a 4
year old and they think the world of her.

I'm not sure when the classifieds are removed, if the
site remembers all the posts that were on it prior to
it being taken down, so please save the texts and
pictures for your items in a handy spot to be reposted
when the classifieds section is reopened.
