Kimbell Playground Summer Kickoff on June 10

Women's World Cup Viewings Return to Civic Center June 12 and 30, and July 5

San Francisco Recreation and Parks and America SCORES Bay Area are teaming up again
to bring you live broadcasts of Women's World Cup soccer action at Civic Center 
beginning with Team USA vs Sweden on Friday, June 12 at 5 p.m. Other screenings 
include a Semifinal game on June 30 at 4 p.m. and the World Cup Final on July 5at
4 p.m. Along with the games on the big screen, fans will be able to get their faces
painted in team colors, scrimmage on mini soccer courts and take part soccer skills
activities.  There will be gourmet food trucks from Off-the-Grid and much more.

Go Bay Sox!

Perfect.  That describes the San Francisco Bay Sox girls baseball team's record 
during its first four games of the Baseball For All National Tournament in Orlando
this week.  Sitting atop the standings at 4-0, the team will continue to compete
 against 11 other teams through Thursday, June 4.  Win or lose, the San Francisco
Bay Sox are proud to be a part of this inaugural tournament, featuring some of the
best young athletes in the country. Above, the Bay Sox team pauses between games

Supervisor Tang Joins Great Highway Cleanup

Supervisor Katy Tang joined local neighbors and RPD staff in planting native dune
plants around the newly renovated restroom at Judah and Great Highway the morning
of May 30. The work group received endless thanks and praises from local runners

National Trails Day is established to celebrate, improve and enjoy America's magnificent
trail system. In addition to the national trail system, there are countless miles
of state, county and local town trail systems for you enjoy. While today is a celebration
of national trails, it is perfectly fine to celebrate all trails in our great nation.
Join us on this two-mile loop trail around the lake, which features waterfalls, 
bird watching and a grand view from the top of Strawberry Hill.

For a more enjoyable walk, remember to dress comfortably, wear walking shoes, bring
water and use sunscreen. Please check local weather forecasts - Trail Walks will

The Ball Thrower (1889), Poeme de la Vigne (1877-1878) and the William McKinley 
Memorial (1904). The paintings are unified through the use of silkscreened line 
work, in which the artist hints at overlooked details, inspiring the public to look
more inquisitively at the monuments and their surroundings. According to the artist,
"The city's history is written on its layered architecture, public and private spaces,
and the monuments are part of this story."

Street Soccer USA Cup Coming to Civic Center August 15-16

Each summer, Street Soccer USA holds a weekend street soccer festival in the heart
of Civic Center to promote its mission of improving the lives of homeless and at-risk
youth through sports.
