1. Car seat question for East Coast trip with 16 month old

 I am exploring the possibility of traveling with the
 babes to visit my parents on the east coast this
 summer. They currently weigh 22 and 24 lbs and I'm
 considering buying a seat for each of them so we can
 all be comfortable. We currently have the Diono
 convertible car seats. Would we bring those on board
 for the flight? They are pretty big and heavy to carry
 around the airport and I'm concerned about installing
 them. Do we install them rear facing? Or is front
 facing acceptable? We have not flown with them yet, so
 this would be our first experience. Thanks in advance!
