 I would think twice about a birth doula. Every OB I
 spoke with recommended an epidural for a vaginal
 delivery, so that in case something goes awry and you
 need a c-section between twins (not likely, but an
 emergency situation), you're positiooned for it to take
 place quickly (which it will need to be). If you're
 having an epidural, your labor is likely to be
 straightforward, and also your babies, as twins, are
 likely to be smaller so pushing won't take long.My
 experience (second baby(ies), 35 weeks, a 4lb-er and a
 5lb-er, epidural) was that I had manageable
 contractions overnight, epidural at 4am, checked at
 7:30am, pushed for each baby maybe 2-3 minutes, born at
 7:55 and 8:05. If it's your first, you're at term and
 babies are large-ish, and you're not having an
 epidural, then perhaps a birth doula would be helpful.
 But my *guess* is that your labor will be relatively
 straightforward.
