Saturday is a Snow Day for the Polar Bear
(https://t.e2ma.net/click/ozchi/o330mu/8qjwqc)
The forecast this weekend calls for spring-like temperatures and sunshine, but it will still be winter inside one animal exhibit at the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens on Saturday, February 27, International Polar Bear Day (https://t.e2ma.net/click/ozchi/o330mu/ojkwqc)! Ten tons of snow and ice will be blown into the polar bear habitat, home of our own Uulu. At 34 years old, she’s the oldest polar bear in captivity, but if history repeats itself, she’ll act like a cub when she gets the chance to play in the snow. Seniors (65 years and older) are invited to visit the Zoo free! Click here (https://t.e2ma.net/click/ozchi/o330mu/4blwqc) for more educational information and a list of activities surrounding Uulu's snow day. (Photo by Marianne Hale)
Leap Day Activities
(https://t.e2ma.net/click/ozchi/o330mu/k4lwqc)
It only comes around every four years and the Zoo is celebrating Leap Year with a weekend of special events (https://t.e2ma.net/click/ozchi/o330mu/0wmwqc). Saturday through Monday, all guests celebrating a Leap Day (February 29) birthday receive FREE admission! Kids receive a Leap Book full of fun facts and activities about frogs, one of the most well-known leaping creatures found at the Zoo. Visitors on Sunday, February 28 could walk away with passes to the screening of Zootopia, a Disney animation.

Visit the New Animals
(https://t.e2ma.net/click/ozchi/o330mu/gpnwqc)
Come visit our new animals, including a baby howler monkey that was born recently. The baby is out on exhibit in the Doelger Primate Discovery Center with mom Lincecum, dad Robin Williams and an older brother who will turn 1 year old in March. The Zoo is also throwing a "Cinco de Marzo" celebration March 5-6 to welcome a new Andean Condor. The festivities will include a quiz-style condor contest with prizes and enrichment for the condor. The 31-year-old, 25-pound female came from Turleback Zoo in New Jersey and will be on exhibit in the Puente al Sur Aviary for at least six months.
