It's a Bug Affair!
Cockroaches and spiders and bees, oh my! Did you know that bugs make up over 80% of the animals on Earth? Come learn about bugs and why they are crucial components of our ecosystems at San Francisco Zoo's Bug Fair (http://sfzoo.us12.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=05b8326f4402b997fe7a097e3&id=68c3310a26&e=7683a9aed3) this Saturday from 10 am - 3 pm.  All activities are free with paid Zoo admission and will take place in front of the Insect Zoo.

YOU Can Help Save Elephants this Weekend!
World Elephant Day is Saturday, August 12, a day zoos use to highlight the plight facing the world's elephants. We are shining a light on the tragedy of illegal wildlife trade with our latest exhibit, Red Ivory, and for every visit to Red Ivory a Zoo visitor makes this Saturday and Sunday, the San Francisco Zoological Society will contribute $1 to elephant conservation. Using layered, enhanced video and composed audio, the piece takes viewers through several scenes depicting elephants in the past, present and future, including repercussions of current poaching practices – a world without elephants. Red Ivory plays at SF Zoo through Labor Day.

Ride your bike through SF Zoo on Saturday, August 19 at 8:30 am! The 90-minute bicycle tour is led by knowledgeable docents who share animal facts and insights.
